Love how all the individual models are Nissan and Chrysler products...and then Acura comes in swinging with worst overall.

The 1G TSX was such a good vehicle. How did they do it so wrong? Many poor choices from Acura.

I was perusing Audi's website and I saw this under future vehicles: https://www.audiusa.com/models/audi-s5-sportback

I had no idea they were doing a coupe sportback a la BMW's 6GC.

^ that has been in the works for a few years. If i recall correctly, the Sportback has been available in other part of the world. So it is not "new"

A5/S5 sportback will be the direct competitors to 4 series GC.... it s just a matter of time before Mercedes joins the party.

A7/S7 is for 6GC.

RIP Mustang Mike, died in his sleep of a heart attack.. only 45. Damn.. was just watching a vid of him doing some digs @ e-town a few weeks ago
He seemed like a great guy and drove one of the quickest Mustangs in the nation. Definitely the quickest procharged Mustang.

I haven't gone to Etown too often in the past several years so I've never heard of Mustang Mike. But this is awful news.

Im seeing so many folks in my age range succumbing to heart attacks.

Yeah.. everyone stay / get healthy and get that ticker checked.
Mike was skinny and appeared to be in good health.
I don't think my heart could take one dig in that thing.

That's market evaluation.. it's a measure of their growth not a measure of their rev / assets.

Fuck Uber.. they're growing but other companies are doing it better. Uber doesn't offer anything original.

Do elaborate? Who's doing better? Isn't that purely subjective and based on your potential locale? Uber blows all the rest of the ride sharing in LA out of the water and i use them twice a week.

Dont forget Volvo, GM, and every other BIG player has a piece of that pie.
Ford managed to get their autonomous Fusion looking like a regular Fusion without the large cameras hanging atop the roof for their Version2.

This is a pricey idea

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/b...500-per-month/

Would you like to (technically) command a whole fleet of cars, with paid insurance, for a flat monthly fee? If so, Book by Cadillac might be right up your alley.

Book by Cadillac is a new subscription vehicle service. For $1,500 per month, users get access to an entire fleet of Platinum-trim Cadillac vehicles, including Escalade, XT5 and CT6. The fleet also includes Cadillac's super-fun V Series, likely including the 640-horsepower CTS-V. Aww yeah.
.

You don't have to go anywhere to pick the cars up, either. They will be delivered and retrieved by "white-glove concierge," and I will be supremely let down if they don't actually wear white gloves. The concierge service is included in the cost, as is maintenance, insurance and cleaning.

There's no set time limit for the cars, either. Cadillac's release discusses how users might want to take out an Escalade for the whole freaking winter, only to swap it for a V Series car once the weather is better for driving.

A subscription vehicle service isn't necessarily new. The idea has been around for years. Back in 2005, Sun Microsystem's CEO tossed around the idea of a service where car ownership shifts to a subscription-type model without the large upfront cost typical with car ownership.

It's quite the sweet deal, but $1,500 a month is a tough pill to swallow, especially when gas and parking are not covered in that price. That's probably why Book by Cadillac's pilot is in the metro New York area. When $1,500 gets you a studio the size of a broom closet, sleeping in an Escalade sounds appealing.

I don't know. $1,500/month and you get the concierge, maintenance, insurance, and cleaning as well? What's the typical finance rate on an Escalade or CTS-V? $900-1,000+ a month?

besides Lyft and calling a buddy, I don't know of any other ride sharing services but Uber.

And it seems to me, that Uber is more established.

Of course Uber is more established, its global and backed by Google. But they fuck over the drivers. Most drivers are making barely over minimum wage not considering their overhead to keep their cars in working order. Plus they don't allow tipping through the app, who fucking carries cash anymore?? Again.. 20 fucking percent.. Fuck Uber. It's worth a longer wait for lyft or another local ride sharing app imo.

We only use Lyft based exactly on this ^. Every driver we've had for the past year has said they drive for both but typically spend the majority of their time on Lyft because they're fair to both the driver and rider, where Uber is all about the rider. Lyft usually, no, always ends up being cheaper for us to use. The last Lyft driver we had was telling us the nightmare situation he had with Uber not agreeing to pay for his cleaning costs for 3 out of 4 times a drunk passenger puked, in one case pissed, in his back seat. Lyft on the other hand approved all pretty much instantly. Needless to say no more Uber for us.

Same feelings - I used to use Uber frequently, living in the city and all. I even signed up and drove for them - I made only 1 trip and felt it wasn't for me. It was a 8 mile trip across town, and I got $5. Driving a 335, it doesn't make much sense at that rate. I can think of so many better and more efficient ways to make $5. They do have the Uber Select program which my car being black qualifies for - and gets you paid more - I considered going for that route but after doing that 1 trip I really kind of felt like I didn't LIKE doing it. lol. I would rather be doing what I love such as photography. Anyways.

After I read up and found out about Uber's business practices I decided to stop using it unless nothing else was available. I don't like the way they screw their drivers and don't support it. I started using Lyft last year and have enjoyed it. A lot of my friends drive and most of them are far happier with Lyft. I think there are a couple other ones too. With Lyft they get paid day of rather than weekly like with Uber. That is pretty big. So if they need some cash they just go out driving for a few hours. Some of them are doing it as a primary source of income and they love the flexibility.

It's wild that these services initially threatened and started taking away from taxi services, and people were like wow, they are really making an impact in that sector. And now, they are even affecting auto sales, worldwide. Pretty wild. I wonder what's going to happen in the future. I also notice like many many cars downtown have an Uber or other service sticker on them.

Another thing I tried doing recently is Curb, which is the same as Uber and Lyft except it is for Taxis. The one thing that annoys the hell out of me with Uber and Lyft is when a driver shows up who has no clue about where they are going. Or they are spaced out or just weird. You don't have these issues with Taxis. The cool thing with Uber and Lyft was the convenience of not having to manually deal with payment on arrival. Well Curb also takes care of this through the app. Previous to these services I would often use Taxi Magic app to request cabs. There are goods and bads with either, as with anything else.
