I bought the long ones from eBay (same guy on fb), but I hate how they don't have grommets to hold them in place. The driver's side moves quite a lot.

I still think it's crazy to spend that kinda cash! Although it looks to be more robust than the normal mats.

oh, and CNT update...warranty on the high flow cat for a year. So I'm outta gas...although I don't think I'd have wanted a replacement anyway. I'll just re-weld it. It actually sounds damn good with the oem cat.

The quality alone makes them worth the extra $80 over oem

Is that it?
I thought they were $400 or something.
In that case, good buy.

Hey Dennis...
guess who had their tire catch fender in the TL-S on Sunday?

At $400 I wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft pole.
Ouch sorry to hear about the fender but on the bright side the TL fender is more forgiving than the s2k. I'm still mad to this day

Forgiving yes...but i KNEW I should have fuking rolled preemptively...and I didn't. I got home and spend 2 hours on the fronts...rolled both nice and flat, trimmed front transition...but now I have a slight little flare and it is driving me nuts. I guess I could just get over it.

Gonna have my PDR guy take a look at it, see what he thinks before I take a rubber mallet to it and really fuks shit up.

Get the pDr guy to take a look. Probably not worth it to go at it with a mallet. Ask me how I know

Funny, I came to the same exact conclusion.

I still have my test pipe sitting in the garage collecting dust, I actually prefer the OEM cat sound wise

Hmmm, maybe there are advantages to being 4x4?

A few years ago, I spun off the track at full lock and the tire touched the fender tab on my S2000. It shredded the tire like cheese.

I came back to the pits and found that the tire had also taken the tab...and removed it outward...through my fender's anus.

I had to beat the fender back in place with a hammer, to which my friend said "Damn. When you bought this car, I bet you never thought you'd be sitting on the side of a race track...hitting it with a hammer".

I have since cut the fender tabs off and covered up the cut scar with epoxy and undercoating. I would not keep the fender tab on any lowered S2000 with even semi agressive wheels. Cut that shit off. Don't be insane. Even if you fold it...one day...you'll be sorry.

At the time, I was on 17x7.5 +45 up front.

Replaced the transmission fluid and diff fluid last weekend. Went with OEM trans and LE-1605 in the diff. Man, what a change! The rear is so much quieter and smoother on the new stuff (old fluid was Mobil1 75/90). Very pleased. Bought it as part of a Group Buy for $20/qt + shipping. Highly recommend!

I gotta get around to doing mine. I should have bought a pneumatic pump or a nozzle type pump.

I put my diff/trans changes off for a year or more because I hate getting all oily from my stupid ass plunger type pump.

So much swearing and hatred involved in doing this. My K series cars are easy because you do that shit from up top.

Stupid fu#&king S2000. F&#k!!!

You've ruined my day by making me think of it.

Lmk.

I used a WalMart special type pump---its cool b/c it fits either quart or gallon bottles. Clean up was not too bad and it worked great for me. I warmed up the new fluid before pumping and it helped.

Get on it, Roly! Supposed to change the diff every 15K miles!

I did all the fluids when I bought the car.
Roland...I made a thread warning people not to fux with fenders...
that's exactly the conundrum I faced...don't roll, take chances...it sux.
Oh well...

Dennis, I know not to hammer from experience too...unfortunately.

I need to do the trans fluid this year. It's also due for the yearly oil change here soon. I should probably order parts this week so I can do it this weekend...

I haven't driven the S2k in about a week ... Still doing the daily duties on the S4.

I miss it. The S feels so confidence inspiring & solid in comparison.

Yea...good one. Just Honda and 'solid' doesn't rhyme with me. Maybe's he's talking about power train and or delivery.

Keep spouting off shit from behind the wheel of that Nissan though, please.

Should have clarified, I'm more referring to steering, chassis, responsiveness, etc.

The Owdi is definitely quieter and a much better highway cruiser, but it feels like a torquey teddy bear in comparison.

Pfft, what are you talking about? Audis are God's gift to men

I'm guessing you've never spent much time behind the wheel of an s2000 and the confidence it gives you in the corners.

See, my dude gets it.

I've tracked track only S2000s before bro but thanks.

Semantics. If he rewrote his sentence to say 'confidence inspiring & planted in comparison' I wouldn't have even commented.

speaking of which, I was talking to my neighbor yesterday and noticed he had an s2000 sitting in his garage, covered by the OEM car cover. Never saw it before.

asked him if it was a new purchase... Nope, he's had it for years but just keeps it in storage since he doesn't have many chances to drive it, having a kid and all, these days.

turns out it's a yellow 2004. With a built and turbo'd engine, apparently putting 650hp down. Jesus. I wonder how bad the turbo lag is on that thing.

It's 2800 lbs. Who cares about turbo lag that shit will fly. Probably runs a mid to high 11 second quarter? Hell 11 even with slicks?

No idea. That's the other thing... 2800 pounds and 650hp... Traction must be a bitch. I don't doubt it's fast as fuck, but I have a feeling that driving it is anything but easy, especially when the boost gets going.

That's what I want to see J do. Nice simple turbo build on the S. Aim for 400? 450? It'd be perfect.

The S2000 is better built than any euro car I've been in. Any other Honda though...not so much.

I think +100hp would be perfect for the S. Anything north of that and you start upsetting the chassis and ruin what the car is actually meant to do.

How does one say 'better built' on one line and then says the chassis can't handle more than 300hp on the next?

I think 400 would be just fine.

I hope you're joking. You know there's a difference between build quality and chassis design right?

At the end of the day, it's about balance. I've been in a friend's car @ ~510whp with a "small" GTX3076 (read: flatter powerband and good response), and because of the supporting aero / suspension upgrades that car is completely solid at speed, corners, etc...

Keeping relatively oem suspension geometry and aero, I'd think 380-400 is fine as long as it's linear, usable power given you have the right driver mod. Lower the car too much, or if whatever track you're at is much higher speed...you're going to have more issues.

In any case, at least minor braking upgrades are going to be needed for the increased power.

I hit 108k miles on the S2k today. It's so damn fun. The only thing I hate are the people on the back roads getting in my way... "WHY ARE YOU GOING 30 MPH AROUND THAT CORNER?! GO FASTER!"
