same here, I think it's absolutely stunning, and i'm not a mustang guy. But it's damn sexy. Only qualm is I feel the rear window comes down to much, otherwise design is on point.


I rented a GT a few weeks ago on a trip, car felt good (although they had an 80 mph limit on it...drove me bonkers!). But car did feel heavy, even compared to my old GTO, the 911 doesn't count as a comparison. But I think with some new sways and springs the car could be fun.

Yeah, that was another thing. It would be too much of a hassle to pay all that labor for a shop to install the long tubes and then possibly get caught and have to pay a f*ck ton for labor again to remove them. After the initial cutting and welding the cat deletes will be a bolt-on/off install.

From this point out, I'll be saving for boost as my next major mod.

J, your cars are awesome as usual, no surprise there. Both sound monstrous and that was hell of a perfect donut in the S2!

CLPower - Thanks for the kind words! The springs definitely tightened the car up. Sway bars will come in due time to really top it off.

Gonna focus on saving some cash and applying for a new (higher) paying job now. The only parts left to install are the cat deletes. From there on out, I may do minor cosmetic and suspension mods but as a whole she'll be on hold till she's either boosted or sold in a couple years. The car runs well and sounds mean as hell as it is. I listed my wheels for sale to test the waters so we'll see what happens there. .

I'll be getting her on a Dyno soon! Just waiting to install the deletes and fighting the urge to pay $100 for the flex fuel upgrade.. Moar powah! I guess my new way of coping with the lack of mods will be detailing. Having a clean car makes it seem that much faster anyways.

He's got a long way to go but I told him the least I could do is put the video out there. It didn't come out bad for an hour's worth of shooting and a dirty car. Damn that front plate is a cock-blocker though.

well, i know the track guys love a square set up on the S2000 but I prefer how the car drives with the stock tire stagger on it...the front is much easier to point where you want although you probably have to go slower. Just an idea...

J, I honestly would prefer to rock a square set-up! I'm ready to let these wheels go and put some NT05R's on my stock wheels. 255/40/18 all the way around on the stock 18x8's. Could I then consider this car a sleeper?

Cat deletes go on tomorrow... This is pretty much a full bolt-on car now minus headers but cat deletes will be virtually the same thing. Stupid CA emissions. Time to get her on the dyno! I'm hoping for at least 420whp on pump.

Then we're gonna pay a visit to the 1/4 mile track up north - Fontana AutoClub Speedway. And finally, she's gonna see some real track time this year. I feel like going to willow springs.

Gonna be taking a different approach to my next round of mods. I'm planning on the following:
1) Better brake pads - this car is heavy and the non performance-package brakes feel like they get overwhelmed easily after numerous aggressive stops from high speeds.
2) Steeda 35lb clutch spring - the clutch feel of this car sucks major co*k and because of that, a lot of guys are burning out their clutches prematurely and Ford isn't warrantying replacements/repairs for most.
3) Switch all fluids to a better brand although I haven't found one yet.

Hopefully this will enable the car to take most of the abuse I throw at it with minimal problems.

Cat deletes go on tomorrow! Can't wait to hear this thing once it's fully opened up!

Not to knock on the 'Stang but impressive to see a 10-15yr old car keep up with the newest pony out of America...of course you paid a very very pretty penny for that German piece of engineering.

Still the new Mustang is very very nice...I'd be seriously looking into one about 7-8 years down the road.... ;p

Yeah, I believe it's a 996 but I'm not well-versed in P-cars. I expected him to blow my doors off! So that made my day until I was walking around my car in the garage and noticed a beautiful door ding on the passenger side and a new imploring on my rear bumper. Wonderful. Hopefully PDR can rememedy the new-found damage and then a solid detail can make her pretty again. She's sitting under a 1/2" of dust, dirt and water spots right now.

I will admit I am a bit crazy and OCD about my car, even though I cause 99% of issues that pop up (mechanically). I was just telling my buddy about how awesome it was to be single on V-day because all I did was sleep, order parts and clean the 5.bro.

Motul, eh? My cousin runs that on his ungodly high maintenance '15 STI. Might be worth a shot! Planning on changing the diff fluid, trans fluid, brake fluid and oil.. I think that's everything but the coolant, right?

I'm just slightly over the 3-month mark of owning my 5.0 now so here's a vey long, detailed update.

* Mileage:
- 12,2xx miles as of this morning. +5,600 miles in 3 months.

* Maintenace completed:
- 2 oil changes.
- 3 sets of rear tires.
- 2 sets of front tires.

* Expected Maintenace:
- Flush all fluids and replace with higher quality counter-parts.
- Re-surface rotors and install stronger pads.
- Alignment. Probably going to purchase a lifetime alignment & balance package. It's been on the rack 3-4x since I've bought it.
- Repair the minor bends in two of my wheels and rbecause my OCD won't let me ignore the slight vibration.
- Inspect and repair curb rash on wheels.
- Clay and wax.

*Issues:
- Rear bumper is still protruding on the left side where it meets the quarter panel. I can't bring myself to leave it at the dealership for them to fix it. I know I'll have to eventually because the gap is getting worse with time.

Modifications:
- Steeda ProFlow CAI.
- Corsa Xtreme 3" Cat-Back.
- Mak 3" Cat-Deletes with PC.
- Lund Racing FlexFuel tune via nGuage tuning device.
- nGuage mounted in A/C vent.
- OEM clutch spring removed.
- Steeda Progressive Springs.
- Incurve IC-S5 wheels (20x9F / 20x10.5R)
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport rear tires (295/35/20)
- Pirelli P-Zero front tires (275/35/20)
- Hyper White LED parking lights.

Planned Modifications:
- Diode Dynamics full LED conversion.
- Ford "Track Pack" spoiler.
- Lighter, wider wheels.
- Whipple or Pro-Charger P1-SC complete kit.
- Sway bars
- Misc. bushings and other parts to further tighten up the suspension.
- White tire lettering.. Because RaceCar, that's why.

Summary:

After owning and modifying my '15 GT for 3 months now, I have little to no regrets about purchasing this car.

- Yes, I wish I would've gotten a C6Z06 but that still might happen.. soon at that.
- Yes, I sometimes wish I would've bought a Competition Orange 5.0 but Deep Impact Blue is nowhere near as common as I thought it would be and is now a discontinued color. The only other DIB I've seen in person was a non-GT parked downtown and the occupants just about broke their necks looking at mine.
- Yes, I wish I would've bought the premium performance package but a touch-screen and leather seats doesn't make or break this car for me. That's not what it's about.

All in all, she's a pleasure to drive and relatively pain-free to own thus far *knock on wood*. She goes like hell and makes a great sound while doing so. With the current mods and tune, she should be putting down somewhere between 430whp-445whp depending on the dyno and honestly, it's hard finding anything on the street that can run with me (save for exotics, but I digress since I have yet to run one). I can count on one hand the cars that have actually pulled on me. Most of the time, the other car will fall back the moment I downshift (God bless Corsa).

In conclusion, it's been 3 months and I'm more in love with this car than I was the day I brought her home. She makes more power now, sounds far more aggressive and looks gorgeous.

Long live the 5.0.. The only thing that could make it better now is boost.

Agreed. I'm holding out for an 07-08 base a-spec front lip and type-s sides and rear. Gotta do it right for my KBP 5.0. Hahahaha.

Tyler - I am enjoying the hell out of her but I think the clutch went out today! So random and I doubt ford will cover it since I'm pretty much FBO + tuned at this point. It's frustrating to say the least but this is why I should've just done cat-back, wheels and springs until the warranty period was over. Typical case of being young and anxious. I've got an appointment tomorrow at a local dealer to see what they say. Hopefully it's covered but I'm not banking on it.

J - I do love the car, I'm happy but never satisfied. Lol

they'll cover it. They boast what a fucking beast of a car it is? If they decline it ask them for corporate's contact information and politely advise them that you'd hate to share across ALL THE ENTHUSIAST forums and boards and social ejaculates that Ford doesn't stand behind their product and can't take a little extra power. Built Ford Tough...right? You're throwing breathing mods onto a car...the drivetrain should be able to handle it, because if it wasn't designed to handle more power, they would want their customers and prospective customer's to be warned, right?
