I know what you mean about service departments not caring about your paint. I brought my car to Tonkin for brakes. I told them NOT to wash my car, but they did anyway. They actually did a pretty good job, but when I got home I wiped down the door jambs and around the seals in the trunk.

Dan has a Civic now? When I was there last, he had a WRX. He used to joke about that he had "only 230 hp...at the wheels". Did he downgrade, or did he have the Civic as a project car?

Turbo for a Civic can't take that much of a bite out of college money, can it? Don't know much about turbo prices (esp used) for Civics though.

damn im slacking missed a whole page.

im curious on how dan will manage the turbo giving that the new civic is DBW and no kpro for it yet.. might have to do something with the rsx-s ecu and double on it.. that will cost a grip
SC needs to hurry up and get a dyno machine there so i dont have to go to unnaturalinc

update on the hood.. might have the wife talked into the carbon hood im still crossing fingers (she thinks they look ugly and would make the car look like a kid car)

oh and my japan part suprise is still in customs... someone needs to tell them its not crack heheh

Kyle, I remember you saying you had to put your winter wheel/tire setup on. I went to America's Tires on 185th at 8am this morning to have my tires rotated. Those guys are great! In and out in 30 minutes. They're careful too. Les Schwab has nothing on these guys, plus AT has much better selection of tires (hate Toyos)

I was busy working from my laptop (working from "home" today) and didn't watch them to see if they torqued the lugs down to 80lbs, so I'll do that later today.

What's up with you and Dan? He was really cool to me. When Nick had problems with leaks on my headers, I was in there like 4-5 times, and Dan would squeeze me in to get it fixed. He also turned me onto KIG. Ono food there! Better than L&L's any day.

Right on, i havnt put mine back on yet, ill probably do that this weekend depending on weather.
Ill only go to the Les Schwab in Sherwood and only Ryan will work on my wheels/car. Hes helped me out alot by fixing what other Les Schwabs have screwed up.

I've heard horror stories about Les Schwab's work. One of my friends with a Saab had them cross-thread his lugs. When he went back to LS, they denied it and told him that there was no proof that they were the ones who did that.

He goes to AT now.

Are you talking about the AT on Hwy 99 off 217? That's not a new store. I've bought wheels and tires off them for two of my rigs (Toyota truck, LX450). They were great, but then AT opened up a store on 185th that also does great work. I go there now.

Les Schwab FTL.

No, its the america's tire on 99/I-5. I passed by it everyday while they were building it, just opened a few months ago. Its down the street from fantasy video.

ah, OK. I don't frequent that area very often. They must be doing OK in this economy, opening new stores. Good for them - good service, good prices and probably the the best selection of tires out there.

OoOoOo let me get in on the LS hate. I worked there when I was 17, the one in Lake Grove (bunch of inbred rednecks) anyways.... a girl had her brakes done there and it came back on the a tow truck with the caliper literally off of the rotor. She said that she was driving down the road, heard a loud clunking noise and then the car acted wierd, she pulled over and saw her caliper hanging by the bottom of her wheel off of the rotor. What did LS tell her? "User neglegence, you must have been using your brakes too much during the bed-in process. We'll fix it up for you for about 350.00"

I just take them the wheels, i dont trust impact wrenches spinning on a lug well. Ill put the wheels on the car myself. I have the feeling of if i mess something up i deal with fixing it. If someone else messes it up...they try to find a way of not being held responsible.

Yes they did my volks, i called and talked to them about them being reverse mount. When Ryan mounted the tires i was right there the entire time. He was good enough to put micro fiber towels around the entire lip so there was absolutly no way the machine touched the wheel

I blame that on her being a female. Not saying it was her fault, but LS took advantage of her knowing nothing about cars.
People would be alot better off if they knew the common things about their cars...would be alot less people buying turn signal fluid for $400.

Yep, would have cost her more to keep it on the two truck and tow it the nearest mechanic. Also while I worked there, all of the "average" people would come in to have their snows put on or something like and a porche or some other nice car would come in and not only did their car get put to the front of the line, I had to HAND was it myself! So if you ever find yourself sitting in LS waiting for longer than they said look out the window at what cars are in the lot and if a nice one is parked next to you watch them pull it in first.

Another favorite, the Managers Ken and Steve at Lake Grove would give people quotes on their tires based on appearances. They would take the girl who knew nothing of tires and reccomend she buy the most expensive Toyo in the shop, or the lady who pulls in with a minivan and kids that her brakes were to low and would surely fail when her pads in fact have 50% life left on em.

F*** Les Schwab.
