Tires are the most important saftey feature on your car. There is nothing between your car and the cold hard pavement besides a tiny contact patch. Don't comprimise your saftey. Even if it means you have to put your tires on a revolving credit acount, buy the best tire you can get.

fixed. Finally paid off the Visa/MasterCard. That was a very expensive month. I have never run Falken's so I can't comment on the quality. I can say that, hands down, the Michelins are the best tire I've ever owned.

Michelins are the best tire period, but you pay a premium for it.

Depends on what the purpose of the cheap tires is, for example, I have cheap dunlop direzza's on the TSX right now. Why? Well shit, I don't drive it like I stole it, I need them to get me by for just 30K before the car is sold/traded and I only drive the car maybe 200 miles a week, so it really doesn't matter.

Just don't buy used tires, regardless of what they tell you, almost any price new tire is better than the "best" used tire.

The only issue I have with the Michelin's is the 45K Warranty. It will only cover you if the tire wears out flat across the surface. But with the A/S Plus, that's impossible. The stciky tread (for cornering grip) on the outside edge wears first. Unless you drive like grandma, you'll never get 45K+ out of them.
This is true for the new generation Pilot Sport too.

Just looking over the recent reviews on my tires at TireRack...wish I had read these earlier:

Edges of tire seemed to wear out quickly. Had wheels aligned twice, but didn't seem to improve the condition...
These are great tires with a rating of 9/10 but only for the first 20000 miles.
After the first 20k these Sports A/S are total trash, other than that the best tires I have ever owned.
This tire needs replacement every year, if you can afford this type of life span, it will be your best tires you ever owned.
After 25k miles:

- Outer tread is now at 1/32" while the rest of the tire is at 6/32"

Please note that my alignment is perfect and that the extreme edges of the tires on the inside and outside are worn evenly on all four tires. I have seen this on many other cars I happen to see in parking lots as well as have found many references to this on various car forums. I have been disappointed by the service life of these tires for sure. I do not drive aggresive at all these days and had expected to get 35k-40k miles out of them. If I managed to get 44k miles out of the OE EL42, then I shouldn't have problems getting that with a tire rated for 45k miles.
The inside edge of all 4 tires is wearing prematurely. I had the car aligned immediately after installing the tires and it still drives straight and true. Other folks have reported the same problem with this tire on the Acura TL, so I have to conclude it is a problem with the tire and/or compatibility with the car.

We might be leasing a PRIUS this Saturday. Hahaha..
Beaverton Toyota have some good deal. $2500 off on all Prius, 2yr free service, 3yr bumper to bumper, 10yr powertrain, 10yr battery. Gonna be signing a 3yr lease deal for a 2013 Prius Persona Series model. Dealer will be buying FX35 for $19k. Gonna be busy week taking off parts.

I like it that its wife's car and it doesn't require any maintenance until lease is over. 2yr service is covered, bumper to bumper for 3yrs and tranny is sealed and maintenance free for +100k miles according to "Toyota engineers." Basically fill up gas and go.

Still can't believe I'll be driving a Prius. hahahaha..

hahaha.. I love the FX but one thing that kills is mpg. plus its a 7yr old car, so it'll start to show its age anytime soon. Also '06 FX with keyless entry system is known to drain its battery for some reason and mine started that symptom last year winter.

It won't be that bad leasing a Prius and keep the lump sum money coming from a FX. And wifey loves the look of new Prius. Its a special edition with full black leather with red stitchings, hyperblack 17's, special pearl white exterior. And with proper set up it can look like this haha

I'll be sharing the road driving slow as fawk to get more than advertised 50mpg. hahaha.
But I won't be driving this thing much and good thing is I don't have to pay $80 premium fill up for wife to last only about 200 miles. But the deal will only go through if they give us good money for the FX. They promised at least $19k without seeing the car, anything low, no deal.

Why? Do the math, you're spending money to 'save' on gas.

Yea, we have taken that issue in the consideration. We were going to lease with $3k down and use rest of the money for me to get back into stock game again since bank interests are pity. But we'll probably use FX as a down payment and use the 0% interest for 48mo. for the remaining amount.

Gas alone will save least $150 per month and have a trouble free new car with everything covered for 3 years without any maintenance costs.

I'll make sure to drive a cool PRIUS to the 27th meet. You'll all drool over Synergy whatever engine that makes little more than 130hp with electric motor. hahaha

So here's simple math.

New Prius $25000 after discount
Trade In $19000
Difference $6000 @ 0% 48mo = $125/month payment

Gas saving per month minimum $150

And we are going from 15mpg city to 51mpg city.

Not a bad trade off but will see how it turns out this Saturday.

usually its the toe angle that eats up the tires. take it the the alignment specialties. they do it right at once. some other places can't get it right and needs realigning again and again.

Ya thinking its toe.. The inside and outside of tire are bald. Inside of tire looks new tire pressure is 38. So i run alittle more air then possibly needed.. I think it says not to exceed 40 and i try to keep it between 35-40 its been known the tires also like to tear from the inside so that is possible on that tire..

B-b-b-but it's your civic duty! Jury duty is awful. I got paid $12 for the day. You're just supposed to sit in a room for hours on end. The only "entertainment" that's allowed is a book. Is something wrong with bringing a music player or something?

Anyways, I think I understand why people get road rage now. I got cut off by some dumbass in a Dodge Ram 435348900 towing a big trailer. Moron switched lanes right in front of me and came (literally) about 2 inches from hitting my car. I don't mean the trailer behind him came within 2 inches, his truck did. So the lane change was just ridiculous negligence on his part. Anyways, he switches from the far right lane, through my lane, to the left turn lane, then gets stopped at a red light. I pass him by, give him a dose of the horn + the middle finger (always good measure) and he just sat there, eyes forward, pretending it all didn't happen.

He was willing to risk my safety and do damage to my car just to ensure he wouldn't miss his turn. God forbid you turn right down a side street, do a u-turn, then go back up the road and turn down the road you want. I mean just the way it all played out I could tell he knew he was being reckless, but God forbid you miss your turn because you aren't paying attention to where you're going, right? Getting into a wreck and messing up someone else's car would just be a minor inconvenience....

Ugh, just needed to rant. Work has been double shitty lately and I really didn't need to deal with all that..

Work has been double shitty lately and I really didn't need to deal with all that..
it happens all to often.. yet they all have licenses. sometimes i wish i had the power to write people tickets when i see them do something stupid
