Twin Cities Acuras
Fujita and Fujita filter..
The check engine light starts flashing and the car stutters if i go above 3k RPM's.. then for a day or 2 its much quieter and the acceleration is slower.. and this intake is just a pipe and filter, doesnt the comptech more resemble the stock filter system, just less restrictive?

Hey Nitro! Jorge and I were just talking about you the other day, wondering if you had fallen off the edge of the planet or something. It's still cold as balls up here, winter weather advisory for 5-8 inches of snow tomorrow, yay!
The CompTech is just like stock in that the filter is in the box, not behind the bumper and it is a LOT less restrictive. You maybe should look into one of those hydrolok covers for your filter, Dan had one on his CLS.
Here is a nice little item that maybe one of us should get to make life easier at The Shop for oil changes and the like.

Just ordered up some RallyArmor mud flaps to help protect those massive fender flares in the back. Hopefully I will get them in the next few days and be able to get them installed up at the shop.
i havent had any problem with my CAI. ran into puddles and snow banks, car's pretty dropped to.
how you liking australia jermaine? hear it's crazy hot down there

I'd be liking the AWD a lot more if I had anything other than summer tires on it. That thing is effin scary to drive in any conditions other than dry or wet because the tires have such large tread blocks on them.
the problem on my CAI is that the filter is completely exposed.. there is no bumper or foglight to protect it, i carved the spot out of the bumper for the foglight, then the foglight fell out, and now its just an air filter sitting there, sucking up water whenever it can
I'm with Razzi, you need to get something hooked up so you don't end up flooding your engine just by driving in the rain. Replace the piece you cut out, put in a foglight, do something!
Jermaine, you watching World Superbikes? They are running at Philip Island and Ben Spies (USA) led the first practice session he ever entered in World Superbikes. You gotta haul your booty on down there and watch the race on Sunday LIVE, it is supposed to be the most gorgeous track in the world!

Anyone up on their battery research?
I found that my battery had froze in November, but there was nothing I could really do about it at that time. For Christmas I got an automatic battery charger (not the mini maint kind, but a full charger with auto on/off for maintanance)
I have had the charger doing it's thing all winter no problems. A few weeks ago I pulled the car out of the garage and mixed a baking soda solution and cleaned off the battery of the blue and white crud that had piled to be the size of a large anthill (2 inches high?)
Well, took the car out again on Wednesday to head on over to Von Hansens for some meaty goodness. Got there OK, but had to get a jump when I left.
Long story short - I'm replacing the battery before I venture out again. Looking at the prices, I can get an Autozone battery (something gold) for about $80 (650 CCA), I can get an Interstate battery (800 CCA) for about $120, or I can go Optima RT (750 CCA) for $200.
Anyone have any compelling reasons why I need to spend $200 on a car battery? I've heard lots of good things about Optima batteries - but I dont have any real power consumption issues to worry about, just starting and whatever else electrical needs my car may have.
Optima for $200 - 750 CCA, unsure of the rest of the stats and warranty
Or Interstate battery with 800 CCA, and 85 month warranty (full replacement up to 3 years, prorated after that).
It's days like this that I wish our cars ran off double A's - I got them in a drawer for the taking.

i ad done some research before i bought my CAI, and the +'s and -'s go like this..
CAI- colder air, so bigger HP increase.. but like a straw since its longer it takes a little more to get it all the way up to the engine, also a bigger chance of sucking up water, although you'd have to some idiot with a hole directly in front of the filter for that to be a problem
SRI- Easier to suck air in, hydrolock is virtually impossible, but because it is sucking in hot air from on top of the engine bay it has a much less positive HP increase, and sometimes in some cars even creates a loss of HP

Whats funny about buying an intake for my car is, intakes have 0 gains on it. The stock airbox is so efficient you dont need one lol Get it for sound.
Z-tube+stock airbox with a drop in filter is the best combo.
But you gotta do somthing. Your car is going to explode lol

hey guys - been a while since i've visited. i was wondering if anyone has attempted to fix the rear sub rattle w/the stock sub? I've been wanting to do this since I got the car, but haven't yet. I've done some searching and it looks like the entire rear seat has to be removed - can anyone confirm that for me? I dont want to 'replace' it, I just need to find a way to fix the rattle.
We're talking about the rear seats, right? If I remember correctly, to remove the seat, the bottom just pops up in front and has a single bolt holding the top and bottom together. Then the back portion of the seat just pops up with hooks near the corners. If it is just like the 03, then the bolt is near the seat belt clip on the driver's side.

Damn, looks like Glow is going to have to join the old person crowd!
I don't have anything going on that night/day, so I could be talked into it. Anyone know where Razzi lives? Maybe if we went and picked him up he would actually show up to a meet...
