What's up guys. I'm coming to Kansas City for work July7-19th and I have never been there before. I'm from western Nebraska and work for BNSF. I have to do training while I'm there during the day and will have evenings and a weekend to kill there. I'm looking for recommended places that I MUST eat as I know the BBQ scene there is amazing, also I might hit a junk yard or two in search of parts for my Civic and Intega, and advise on good yards would be helpful. I also noticed Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox Twenty will be playing there on the 12th. Just wondering where or how the best way would be to get a cheap ticket to the show. Any other recommendations on places to go or see would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Jack Stack and Oklahoma Joes are must eats while you are in town BBQ wise. Idk if it will be on a Friday that you will be here, but Fast Fridays up at KC trends is also a cool event, pretty big car crowd gathering with lots of exotics. As far as salvage yards, I know there is Pick N Pull and U pick it, both on the Kansas side.

Fellow BNSF'er!!! I'm a conductor/switchman here in KC. Tickets for that concert should be pretty cheap, just check out Craigslist for them. Also +1 for OK Joes, it's good stuff. I'm assuming your staying out by the college, so there is one pretty close. Hit us up if you want to get together.

 

Nice man! I had considered applying for conductor as well. I mainly just wanted on with the company. I'll check out Craigslist once I'm there, or I'll just go to the sprint center day of and get one from a scalper. Yeah they have us staying by the college, this is my first trip down of many. Cool, I will hit you up, I always enjoy meeting fellow forum members from any board.

 

Jess, you might try a Royals game or Sporting Kansas City (soccer) too. Both teams are playing pretty well right now.

 

Just got here last night. Picking up a ticket for GGD's after training today. I'm considering going to a Royals game this weekend if they're playing then.
