I'm sure, but it's nice to have proof. I wish I could put down nearly that much.

DTP Racing Dyno Day - April 18th 9 am.

2. snowman81

I'll show up, not sure if I'd dyno my car again though. I've done it twice with the same mods that I have on it now and I'm at about 240. Here is the last dyno I did, and this one was actually done at DTP.

BTW...pulls start at 8:30 and the line usually forms about that time. There are typically quite a few a cars that show up. Adrian, what time do you think you would head out? Eric, I know you said you were interested as well, what time do you think you would head out? Just trying to get an idea b/c I don't think I want to stay to late.

I don't know the location of the shop, so it's your call. We can meet up 30 or 40 mins prior at our usual spot and go from there.

BTW nice dyno....I hope I get that much or better.

like I said the earlier the better I can go whenever time.
Adrian instead of our usual spot we should meet at the food lion at the corner of volvo pwky and greenbriar pwky since its around the corner. your actually closer than you think.
Im hoping for 250-270ish and Adrian you should be 270-280 range.
I cant wait to see how many different cars show up I might stay there for several hours just spectating.

That works for me! Personally I don't think I will get over 260, but we'll see.

Yeah, the Dyno is right off Greenbrier pkwy between military hwy and the 64 on ramp. The Food Lion is a pretty good place to meet. We would just take a left out on to Greenbrier and a right down the road that DTP is on. I will warn though, the speed bumps in the parking are pretty damn high, so be very careful and take them slowly.

Thanks Adrian...I wouldn't be surprised if you put down more than 260, but I'd be curious to see what you put down. The only bolt on I don't have is the thermoblock spacer but I don't think that will add much power and I wonder if it's worth the money.

We can probably show up around 8:15 or so at the Food Lion and head out from there. We don't need to be first in line, it's cool to see some of the other cars run too. Depending on the temp that day, if you guys wanna buy a bag of ice to set on your intake and valve cover, it will boost your numbers. I did it once when I lived in Texas and it made a decent difference over runs with out it. Now I just run it the way it is to see what my power is when I'm just driving around.

Still not sure if I am taking my birthday trip to Pittsburgh this weekend. If I don't go I will most likely join you guys for the dyno day just to hang out. I appreciate the offer Adrian, but that is just too much money. We can just wait and find out exactly what she puts down next time.

The exhaust tone is deeper and is just a touch louder. I noticed a lot of the drone went away which is good. The power also improved slightly across the entire band which feels great!!!

Actually Eric unless something breaks, I'm done. I'm happy with what I have now. Just maintenance and upkeep is the key. Time to concentrate on other things.

I was talking to AL (stillhere153) about my stock dyno #'s so I know what kinda gains ive gotten with my mods. To he honest Im not too excited anymore about it because if what he told me about these types of dyno's. Dynojet anyone please!!!!!!

Im going to get my car dynoed Saturday and Im wondering what the base hp/tq to the wheels are? I saw somewhere it was 247/229 for the 05 6MT What are they really?

depends on the dyno. If it is a dynojet I'd say you will get 260/230

Well its a dyno dynamics dyno but I wanna know what the STOCK out of the showroom HP/TQ for a 05 6MT that way I can see how much I gained with all the mods.

Um well those are dreamkillers... They read low... Its an all wheel drive dyno, you will put down 250 TOPS... I put down 240 on my tl-s almost stock on one of those wasn't too pleased but yeah they read 15% less than dyno jets

All Aspects Racing has Dynojet. He is the only dyno I use. My stock numbers were 230/210. After the intake, pulley, and spacers I got 241/220. Then after procats, 248/225. So I can imagine what it will be now. If the dyno on Sat is not a dynojet, then our number will definitely be low. I might not do it and wait to get back to the other shop.

^what?! street racing?! shame on you Eric! lol! Damn that must have sucked.

All Aspects is usually not open on Sat. but I can call and ask if we had more cars interested. He does $55 for 3 pulls with a print out. Maybe Keenan will open for both of us or if the Jeff is interested just to see what his do on a dynojet.

It would be more beneficial for me to stick with Keenan anyway. Up to you guys.

Well that was a wash. Keenan said he's booked till June, which I expected. He's always booked. However he can always squeeze a Friday afternoon if possible. He also said he would do it for $50 for 3 pulls if we at least had 4-5 cars total. That is something to look for in the future. We would just have to plan far ahead.

As for tomorrow, we can still meet. But I'm not going to dyno. It would be interesting to see others though. Any thoughts?

Wow, I missed a lot in the past couple days...
I would be up for running mine on a dynojet to see if the numbers are any different. As for tomorrow, I'f you guys wanna still head out, I'll meet up with you. It's mostly Mustangs that show up, but there are some pretty decent cars that show up though. If we go, we don't have to get there that early either since we're not gonna dyno. Let me know what you guys think.

If Dynojets are really off by that much, my dyno numbers on a Dynojet would be somewhere around 280 - 290. That sounds crazy...my car putting down that much whp. I don't know how accurate that is. If my car is 260 at the crank stock, with 18% drivetrain loss, that would be around 213 whp. That means with the mods that I have (I/H/E/P) I've gained 67 whp??? Just doesn't sounds feasible. Which dynos are more accurate? There has to be some sort of standardization. At this point to me, it wouldn't matter if i ran it on a dynojet or not...I already know about what it would read, that doesn't mean my car is any faster because the number on the pretty little graph they printed out is higher than the number of the pretty little graph that I already have. Stuff like this aggravates me b/c there is no consistency. So someone who comes up to me and tells me that theey have 270 whp, but they did they're dyno on a dynojet, and my 240 whp from a dynodynamics is faster...just doesn't make sense.

K...I'm off my soap box now.

:tripped getting back on soap box:
From what I've read, most people feel dyno dynamics are considered to be more accurate, however, it is recommended that you use the dyno as a measuring tool on the day of the dyno and not to compare to numbers done on other dynos. If you always done your mods on a certain dyno, your best bet is to go back to that dyno to see how much you've gained from new mods. Most people go with a dyno jet when the want high numbers, but if that's what you did your baseline on, you'll get the best information from sticking with it.

hmmm yeah I was thinking the same thing. So what the hell does SAE corrected mean? because there is always someone who asks that when someone dyno's their car.

Also does it matter if you have heavy ass rims on opposed to stocks?

SAE correction is just a way to correct for environmental differences, like elevation and humidity. There are calculators to figure out SAE corrections based on temp and air pressure and all that crap.

As for tomorrow, I won't be able to make it. I noticed this evening that I have a leak coming from my hot water heater so I get to deal with that.

Also Jeff you might be getting a call or PM from me next friday because i got everything I need to run video in the car. I got Doms nav2go, blitz thing and a dvd player and a backup camera. Im not the brightest when it comes to working on this but ill give it a try. and WHEN i do fuck up I might be calling you to save the day or throw ya some $$$ at ya to finish the install

Thanks Eric...hopefully the hot water issue will go easy. I'm pretty sure the tank needs to be replaced. We have a home warranty, but sometimes they are more of a PITA than a help.
As for back-up camera install, I should be able to help. I'm no genius when it comes to that, but I was able to install that and I also installed the OEM Nav in my car, so I know some of the basics. Let me know. I normally don't get out of work until a little later on Fridays, but I don't think I have anything going on Saturday.

ok cool I wouldn't bother you on a friday even if I need help. Ill give myself at least a day before I hit the panic button.

Yeah thank god for the home warranty. Im going back and forth with mine about a cracked heat exchange in my gas furnace. I have had 2 companies come out to check mine. I have one saying that its cracked and another saying its not. I had a 2nd opinion come today and he agreed its cracked.

My unit is 24 years old and I just want a new one but I think they just want to replace the heat exchange
