Integra ACDelco Synchromesh for Integras?
ACDelco Synchromesh for Integras?
I've recently parted with my beloved 6MT 3G TL after 20 years. See post here for details.
I replaced it with a 2025 Integra ASpec/Tech 6MT (OF COURSE!). I almost pulled the trigger on the Type-S but couldn't justify it. (See link above for details.) I have been REALLY happy with my choice.
Question: We all were running GM/ACDelco Sychromesh (Friction Modified) in our manual TL trannies to make shifting better (especially the notorious 3rd gear pop-out).
I've been reading in a bunch of the Civic forums, and the there is a mixed bag of whether to run it or not. In the 3G TL forum there was no question - if you had the 6MT, you should run the fluid, and I ran it for almost all of the 20 years with no issues.
Thoughts on the new versions of the Honda 6MT trannies running non-OEM fluid? I haven't had any issues so far. It's a little "sluggish" into 2nd when cold, but when warmed up it is awesome.

if it ain't broke, don't fix it.. but the minute you run into some issues, i don't see how it could hurt, plus it's a cheap enough fluid such that if you do have issues, you can always switch back to OE fluid. For what it's worth, the s2000 crowd also uses the GM FMSM fluid so i'm sure could benefit from it as well.
