MY car has almost 10,000 miles I bought exactly a year ago. The last few weeks I have been having the feeling that its harder to shift into gears especially third. It feels like I have to force it into position. The third gear always required some force to engage and I had grinded the gear several times over the year. Now it feels like the other gears are the same. I had a few manual cars before and they all shifted much worse than this. My friends 05 6mt G35 feels much rougher same mileage.

 

I have an '04 6mt with the same concerns. This has been discussed on more than 1 occasion too. I am currently looking into changing my MT fluid, which I read solves a lot of the "notchiness"

There are a bunch of people here in favor of using the GM synchromesh. I'm looking into specific applications from AMSOIL MTF Synchromesh (5w30) and RedLine MT (70w80). The AMSOIL MTF is a direct OEM replacement to Honda MTF. Still checking into the specific application for the RedLine.

Look into changing the fluid and you should be fine :-)
