OBDII scanner codes question

Hi,

I'm trying to do more work on my car myself so I bought an OBDII scanner and just ran it on the car. I received three error codes but I'm not sure what they mean or possible fixes.

Code 85-01 VSA Signal Failure. What does this mean and is there a fix? I googled this and didn't find anything on the topic that was useful
Code B1227 Ambient temperature Sensor Open and B2983 R/F Motor Lock Error: When I googled these codes they seem to be linked. It mentioned some loose connections or poor connections for the temperature control. Can someone help expand on this? I had just started the car in - 4 degrees Celsius so not sure if that affects the reading.

Thanks in advance all!
