Strange P0420 code question

I have done some searching around and have found no help to what is going on with my car. I am new to the RL and love the car thus far with no issues what so ever other then this one. I tripped the P0420 code a few months ago and then in 2 day it cleared itself and then last week once it started getting below 20 degrees it tripped again and then clears and just last night it comes on yet again. Do you guys thing its actually the converters or the oxygen sensors? Also the car is a 2007 Tech Package with 132,000 miles

Thanks for the help

replace the 02 sensor, if the code continue to show up then its your converter is on its way out.

Check also the air cleaner, got few codes when my car was new to me, it was supposed to be changed at the service but it was completely clogged up.
After i changed it no codes anymore.

Do you notice any loss in performance? If not, it's probably the sensor.
