2016 White ILX minor changes so far

Hi,

I picked up a 2016 ILX tech package about 2 moths ago and you know we cant leave stuff stock.

2nd day of ownership off to the tint shop.

next was the hard process of picking a wheel set. I didn't want a wheel that everyone has nor did I want some curb scratched rims that would just bug me every time I looked at them. So after narrowing my choices down I decided to pick up some Sparco Drift wheels in Bronze. And today they arrived.

Yes I know there is a gap between the tire and fender and that will be resolved at a later time.

The next install will be the Aero kit for the front bumper (if it I don't like just the front then I will get the rest of the kit)

Looking good!

I plan to tint my windows this week. What percentage did you go with, 20% all around?

Are those 17" rims? Or did you go up a size from stock?

Those look like 15%-20% to me. I personally went with the Limo Tint 5% on my Acura. my Civic had 15% and I felt like it could have went darker. It keeps the car cooler during the day too. I did 30% in the front, so it would not be too dark to get pulled over but to still have a bit of tint.

Wow that looks really good. In California, we are not allowed to tint the front doors or windshield.

I have my car at the shop as we speak. I'm going with 20% rear and 50% front and windshield. I'd like to have a little tint and not raise to much attention to police.

So far I have passed many police and they have not made any issues with my 30% tint in the front windows. Not trying to be racist, but I think race has a bit to do with who they bug with front window tints and who they don't. I have a feeling they are more likely to ticket someone who looks "dangerous" than an average Joe.

Just got my car back from the tint shop.

50% on the front windows and windshield came out a bit darker than I expected.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

When I pick the tint out I told them dark in the rear (1 step down from limo) and medium in the front.

I kept the stock 17 inch size because I did not want to have to purchase tires, also I do plan to lower it in the future so I wanted to keep some sidewall thickness for a softer ride.

I'm in southern California. I know they are not supposed to be tinted so thats why i went with the lighter tint on the front doors.

Im in socal and have recieved 2 tint tickets already.

I only had the front sides tinted. Youre far more likely to get a ticket with that windshield tint. Good luck.

I don't think he tinted his windshield. He just said the front doors.

However, his windshield does look a bit dark in the photo.

I'm in Nor Cal. Cops tend to be a lot more laid back about tint up here for some reason.

Either way, it's still illegal and we can get stopped/ticketed at any time.

I'm surprised you've been popped twice. I'd imagine with all the cars tinted down there, they'd be a bit more lenient on stuff like that.

The picture below shows how the kit is mounted to the bumper

Jealous! I'd love to get that kit. So expensive though.

Are you installing it yourself?

I just purchased just the front aero peice to see how i like it if it looks weird to me then ill get the other pieces. Also i lucked out snd the guy at the parts counter hooked it up with 20% off the parts when i ordered the trunk liner, front aero kit and sun shade.

I know a really good body guy so I'm going to let him install the aero kit.
