Hi ppl, I've got a 2019 ILX (premium pkg) my vehicle is completely factory/stock. Except for the new tires I've just installed, "ZR" rated.... I've been looking online for performance upgrades for this car and untill about an hour ago (I learned from etunez.com, that 9th gen civic si and 2019 ilx, parts might be swappable, and/or same possible application/s per some products). I've not found much.
So what's available for my vehicle? *With approximate prices too please? What's really going to make a noticeable difference in performance per your experience/s? What's not suggested to do? is there a certain order that the stuff has to be installed in? I'm not looking for racing (this is my only vehicle/my daily driver), I'm looking for performance. And will the stuff that I'm asking about for performance be better or worse for my engine, longitivity wise? And what about MPG am I going to kill it by installing this stuff or what do you guys think? LoL, yes I'm asking that question about performance upgrade/s options.
Sean, there is nothing that's going to give you a BIG WOW factor as far as mods that you can just bolt on. If this is your daily and you are not ever going to take it for a weekend at the track, I suggest you keep it stock, and maybe get a nicer set of wheels and maybe an intake for some better sounds. Maybe A-Spec kit to give it a more sporty look. This is my opinion and i don't believe dumping a lot of money on mods that going to make car indented for daily driving unpractical.
piggy backing off of visi_D,
the only mods available to you are exhaust pipes...
which wont make a HUGE difference in performance. you'll spend a few grand to make the car sound louder and be only marginally quicker.
with that being said; if you enjoy modifying cars, do it for the love of modding. Dont do it because you're chasing this unattainable imaginary number you have in your head..."oh, I have to be at 300HP!"
Also, Hondata doesn't support the 2019 ILX, which means you cant tune the car to optimize air and fuel
I also suggest to drive it how it is and just do visual mods like Visi_D suggested.
in fact, suspension can be a performance mod!!!
it wont make the car faster per se.....but it will make the car more fun!!
The 2014+ 9th gen. Si exhaust and sway bars fit. To do the front bar you need to drop the 'K' member. If you only do the rear it creates a lot of oversteer (rotation). Some like it, I prefer neutral. The handling is much tighter with minimal body roll with both on. There are no clutch upgrades, so if you add a bunch of power the transmission is doomed.

Thanks for any and all of your help.
i would start off with a cold air intake from injen or the short ram from AEM (even though they say it’s a CAI) if you’re looking to install an exhaust Full Race has one that’ll fit your ILX and also a catted downpipe. If you’re getting those I’d suggest getting some one piece coilovers to free up room underneath because it’ll touch your springs. There are no tunes yet for ‘19-‘20 ILX but I’m going to Cali some time in July or august to have my car used as a test car. Also you can get a rbc intake manifold from hardmotion. Also you can get your cylinder heads ported and get a 5angle valve job. The only thing I’ve thought would be possible to upgrade the transmission would to go to a machine shop and see if they can build better quality parts for the DCT if they take a look. I dunno how much that would be but that’s the only solution rn. also get lightweight wheels. It’ll free up some weight.
the price point cost for these would be:
AEM and InJen CAI - $300 10hp gains
V band exhaust system - $650
Downpipe - $650 avg 10hp
Yellow Speed Racing coilovers - $1000
RBC intake manifold includes (j35 throttle body, fuel injectors, thermal gasket) $1200
CNC Head port - $650-$1500 25hp gains
Okay, while I do appreciate everyone's input. I believe, Tyrell hit the nail on the head, so to speak, with what I was looking for, per my application.
One more question, I've been hearing about something called a "Pro Charger", option for these engines? Not exactly sure if the mod is just a fancy name for a turbo add on kit? Or if it in fact is a turbo and a supercharger mixed together?? Which would be an interesting feat. Though I am curious about a possibility of doing a turbo kit add on mod. I see a downpipe availability option per my vehicle. And then I'd have to steer towards 9th gen civic si components/vehicle application for fitment, possibly? Or would I just find the most "complete" kit per a universal kit? Then also after the mechanical add-ons per se. I'm sure fuel management/delivery would need to be upgraded, eprom custom mapping a possible option ? It may be a daily driver, but that doesn't mean it can't be a sleeper... 😁.
I do, do mods for the sheer pleasure of being pinned to the seat cushion on take off
like the old school buick turbo v6s' that you'd send out the turbo's to Kieth Black in FLA to getting your "unph" handled right. To those old school turbo conquest tsis' that'd shockingly pin ya to your seat merely just stock, lol. When I was younger, I ran domestic application, with my DAILY DRIVER (1971 Pontiac Firebird Ram Air, functional, 455 SD HO swap, reverse valve body upgrade, trans lock, upgraded torque converter, b&m z-gate shifter, shorty 2 piece headers, butterfly turn out outs @ the manifold flanges and a balance pipe wound down to purple hornies racing mufflers with 45°turn out galvi pipes running out my back door just in front of my meats in the rear. And yeap I was running cookie cutters on the front with my shoes wrapping brushed aluminum billet centerlines on all 4 (always had too keep a torque wrench in your car and 120ftlbs those suckers every other day or you'd have one of your rear tires rolling past ya, after spin up to sticky @ pre race... Ugh smh lol)... The good ol' mid size blocks- had to treat the revs like a big block 7800 max or ya gonna have a bad day but still the weight with kinda some "extra" room of a small block. Also had 2 chain link fence tighteners (turn buckles) installed at the front of the timing cover with solid poly mounts - making that whole sub frame gone bolty solid, wanna turn into a swizzler stick, lol.. Tons of experiences, shit ton of those were expensive as hell - for the love of God, lmao. And I used to run the fuck ton outta that fucker every weekend... I hit post with two freaking fuel cans fill up on jp8, before I headed up to firebird... While at first I'd no overdrive (4.11s' linkin locker rear, running 50s' "DOT LEGAL" LMAO, on my way up to Phx drag way. Meanwhile overheating my car (that's where I learned about aluminum racing 5 core radiators, *having a COMPLETE full circle around my mechanical engine cooling Flex fan - vicious fan package 5 blade eventually learned to running all under drive pulleys, ditching the mech. Fan in its entirety, 2 high efficiency 3 sod staggered puller fans), running 91 high test, no nos, the worst eldebrock air cleaner assembly/filter ever made/designed especially in the freaking desert... all there had to be was itty bitty dust storm why you nailed that sucker just even cruising and that fucker was clogged oh my God, LMAO... Needless to say that went right in the trash can along with their whole design idea there get going on the r&d on that Jesus Christ, lol. Eventually it went up going with the street scoop inside and then I had a foamy pre-filter on it that made me happier plus it look kind of cool I can't tell you the little Street scoop not the ugly one words just wide open the one with the butterflies on it woohoo yeah that meant I caught a hole in the hood I didn't give a fuck at the time later I did find out that that Hood and the original air cleaner with the ears was worth so much money (never mind the n.o.s. propertys it'd had to it for the impeccable shape they're in both the hood in the functional air cleaner with the ears meaning it was vacuum operated it would open up the butterflies over white I don't know like 23 to 27 miles an hour it really just depended on engine vacuum hg) the young and dumb what can I say lol... Also pressurized billet aluminum coolant catch cans where your friend you know the type where the top of them screwed in on cylinder clear hoses started out looking cool until you found out they weren't so durable that I went back to Gates green stripe line, what they ran on all the cop cars on the East Coast, hoses and belts, that is.. I kept my A6 A/C compressor on there too... Yeah I'm running AC because it's the desert and it's HOT 🥵 lol... I was a genius I still had the black leather interior in there that was remarkably insane that sat for a little too long but no coverings on the windows lol. and that story just goes on and on just like The money pit that was after it all in the long run so I've been doing this for a while it's not my first rodeo.
meaning that when I asked the stuff from you guys I'm asking because evidently I don't have experience in the import world first with this car I don't know so give me a break don't give me some stupid exhaust that's going to be louder that's dumb I got pretty just pop a couple holes in the freaking muffler or wherever make it louder I just run it at the headers and run straight pipe that'll be louder... Great whoop de doo, that's great and also not helping me here.. I don't want to go in a straight line fast I want to go straight line fast and out of the turns fast getting pulled like a bat out of hell keyword here is pulled... And I want at the wheel HP and torque curves matched if you get my drift so do we have anybody that has a clue on how to work on the 2019's what is my problem here is it the software is it just asinine design or what's going on why is it only on the 2019 because aftermarket for 2018 and prior and)or 2020 and newer. They seem "straight Golden" to having a plethora more stuff available... I mean what is going on, with the 2019 ILX performance mods??? 😩 Ugh, lol.
OF all the cars I had to pick... It had to being, the sexy one as my ex-fiance had put it... now I'm feeling like, she didn't exactly put it; but she stuck it to me really good lol.
a procharger is a supercharger.
the company, Procharger, does not specialize in Honda's.
generally, Procharger specializes in Domestic v6's and v8's.
also, it's very hard to read your posts as it's just one long rambling sentence.
I mean sure, you can add all of those mods listed; but if you cant tune you wont be able to optimize air fuel ratios. which means, you may run rich or lean.
Simply put; there isnt that much aftermarket support for your specific car.
