E-tuning for ILX
E-tuning for ILX
For those of you ILX owners that live in 'remote' areas as far as tuning goes and are old enough you don't give a shit about a dyno slip like me....you may want to considering an e-tuner. I used Steve at E-tunes ECU Tuning for Hondata, K-tuner, Cobb and more... | E-Tunez who also tuned another member with a 2015 ILX. Both of us are running 2014 ILX ecms because we plan to boost down the road. Basically you tell him your mods he emails you a safe starter map, you drive around 15-20 minutes while logging, then send it to him, rinse and repeat as necessary. Then whalla you can't maintain traction even with a stock block, downpipe, and intake, but that's a problem without tuning so.
Let me know if you have any questions, and I have no affiliation with E-tunez, just have been tuned by a number of mostly legit tuners over the years including.
Dave Anton at Rallispec for turbo EJ205 suby
Andy at Veriocios Motorsports in DE for same with bigger turbo etc
Chris Harris at Xeoncron for JDM B18C
Jon Mireles in Austin TX

can you set me up with an introduction to a tuner?
chefcolby86@gmail.com
Colby Wood, sorry I never replied hopefully you found E-tunez or someone by now? You don't really need an intro just reach out to them and say you heard about them from the forums.
Sean Lowery, I don't know what tuning options are available for a '19. Basically there is Hondata and K-tuner. Most tuners could make gains on a stock car, but most people get a 'downpipe', cold air intake, exhaust before the tune. Some tuners don't charge a retune fee for small mods, but if you're stock initially I'm not sure that applies. Going to a high flow cat downpipe vs the two oem cats is going to have the most gains, but isn't CARB legal as far as passing emissions.

Finally... A brain

I've got a 2019 premium pkge ILX. I can give a rat pack of the exact ly the car figure rims and the tech package inside which I think I wanted that just solely for a couple things electronic based which I do not have now namely the extra two speakers would have been nice cuz the base on the stock side sucks ass for 2015 is way better and has a better driver in the rear shelf along with I believe better amperage and settings just at verbone stock flat/balanced (yes I'm talking about the sound system and yes it does matter; a lot).
So how does this work per se? I too want to boost down the road literally and figuratively. Time frame is going to be when I can afford it and that's pretty much it after that it's game on, like donkey Kong.
So is this barebone stocks you're talking about doing eTunez on? And of this year picture of spending my tires everywhere I go with zero traction sounds lovely but ungodly expensive that's amazing that this gentleman and or this company is can do that with just the mapping alone well pretty much but not able to adjust the traction at the same time for better launch options I mean is that what we're going down to but I don't want to straight ways I don't want to do quarter mile runs anymore it's boring as fuck I don't want to do swish and flick I want to throw my car side to side and get this tire sticky drifting is kind of boring to me but racing road racing now there's something there's an art so I want to build up slowly learn the car lend a new mods get race ready on my daily driver yeah it's for Julie driver and yeah I'm going to keep modding it while I'm driving it that's how you learn and fail and then learn again and fail again etc etc.
But seriously though thank you for any and all of your help unit you can't help me specifically I very much appreciate your post and for sharing any of your information and experiences as well as failures it helps a lot.

I've got a 19 ILX, with a Ktuner. Ktuner sends a base map for 91 Octane+. It is, for sure, faster than stock.
However, in order to get the most out of the vehicle, it'd be good to get to a place where you're comfortable with your mods, then get an email tune from E-Tunez, Two Step, IMW, or any of the other big reputable shops that have seen a bunch of K24's before.
I think Intake, RV6 DP, and Exhaust is a good place to get a Ktuner email tune.
There isn't a whole lot past that without doing something drastic.
