Ebay Type R Spoiler

I bought a civic type r spoiler about a year and 5 months ago off ebay for like 200. Painted and Installed it on my ILX and a few weeks ago the base of it cracked on the left side due to a snow storm. Had to uninstall it today as the base was fully cracked and wasn’t connected at all. Anyone know where I can get an Oem type r spoiler, according to the internet its impossible and you can only get replicas. Im scared of buying a replica after this experience.

Man that's too bad. I bet it looked great. I'd like something other than OEM A-Spec, but never had the balls to do something as wild as the Type R Spoiler. Props to you though. I've always wondered how it'd look.

About the attachment, I'd say let a body shop have a crack at it. Fiberglass/Bondo is not structural at all, But if it was fiber reinforced epoxy resin in it, it'd hold like a champ. Epoxy with Carbon Fiber shards in it, or Expoxy with metal bits in it (JB Weld) would do wonders to keep that thing back on. I say take another swing at putting that thing back on with some reinforcement.

If you do put another one on, you may want to work on the mounting so it doesn't create lift like it did. https://www.slideshare.net/abhiskme/...-cars-70544408

Honestly I loved the way it looked, I got some hate for it but I couldn’t care less. I cant justify paying 300-400 bucks for the a spec trunk lip, It doesn’t look flashy/unique enough for me. I took it to a body shop they said they couldn’t fix it but I am looking at other options. Appreciate the recommendation tho I will pass it along to the shop.

Take into consideration the angle of the wing next time. You will created a lot of drag and can be back to another broken wing. The other member above said it. Looks like it was creating a lot of drag.
