Had a Borla Axleback mounted up to the factory mid pipe. Included a Magnaflow resonator upstream after the downpipe. Very happy with the sound. A bit louder than stock. No angry bees. DSG downshifts sound great under braking.
It necks down to 2.25” but so does the factory axleback. Everything upstream of the flange is 2.5”
I wanted it more for sound than for any potential increasing of flow. Eventually I may do a Full Race Downpipe and Catback, but for now this suffices, especially at stock power levels.. Gives a slight growl on throttle and subtle crackles off throttle.
I will note that the Borla’s flange connection had to be altered at the exhaust shop to get the hardware holes to line up for the spring tensioned bolts. It was close but no cigar in terms of out the box fit.
Do you remember the reference number? Was this for a 2015 civic si 2 door or 4 door? Thanks
11828 is the number.
Again. It’s a close match but the flange needed to be modified for the connection to work. Also, was pretty raspy without the addition of the resonator in the mid pipe. I’m happy with the sound but looking back, I’d probably just get an entire Full Race catback if I had to do it again.
This muffler jas the right bends to the pipe.... But, wrong flange and the height of the hanger rods are too long. If you have a welder or access to one, then you can install this. I used my old flange from the stock and welded on the the borla while straightening the muffler. Next i cut the hangers and shifted plus lifting them to the right and welding. Not a hard process but it doable. It's definitely loud with no drone. Mild when just cruising but loud AF when step on it😂😂😂 some rasp but it might be from the downpipe as well.
