USB Cable Issues in Cubby
USB Cable Issues in Cubby
Hey guys, I've got a 2015 M/T ILX, the USB cable in the little cubby hole under the climate controls is giving intermittent power. It'll power on for a second, then off, then on, then off, for eternity....
I bought the car used a few months ago and just recently noticed this issue. I've always used the 12v plug to charge my devices.
Wondering if anyone has any experience or thoughts on what I could do to fix this issue. Could it be as simple as swapping a fuse? Can't seem to find any sort of similar issues online.

take the cup holders off the big silver trim by pulling up with plastic trim tools no screws at all. then the passnger side footwell side panel where the long black plastic is pull on that and it should expose some wires the usb wire is 5 inches long and is grey and goes out to another connector that connects to the car. may be lose there try that if not just live with it

FYI, at least on my 2016, the USB port (center console cubby) is very low powered and takes forever to charge your phone. The AC (cigarette) plug is much more powerful. I use an adapter that has a USB-A and USB-C and use it to fast-charge my Pixel.
