Whistling noise from air conditioner??

Hi-

I am new here, and I just purchased a 2015 ilx with tech package last week! The one quirk that I have noticed is a faintly audible, high pitched, intermittent whistling noise coming from the front right side of the car when driving. After adjusting radio, turning on and off air conditioner, I believe it is coming from there, the air conditioner, as I don't hear the noise when the ac is off. However, I do not hear the noise at all when the car is idling at lights, etc. I have tried it with the recirculation button both on and off. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Is this a normal noise? Any insights would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I have not heard the noise so I would venture to say it is not normal. Good luck!

I had one as a loaner while waiting for my wife's MDX to arrive. I noticed the same type of noise, but found it would only happen under light acceleration. If I took my foot off of the accelerator, it would go away. I am not sure what the issue is, but see if you can duplicate this way...

I have the same problem with my 2016 ILX. Was thinking about taking it to the dealer but whenever I have the car parked or going under 10mph it’ll make a high pitches sound whoever the AC is on.

Assuming you're still under warranty and you can easily reproduce the sound, take it to the dealer.

This happens with the 2G TSX as well. I've experienced it many times, always under light acceleration, but not recently. It happened frequently in my car's earlier years, but never bothered me enough to investigate a fix.

Got the same issue last week, open glove box and check if your cabin filter is still intact. In my case I just replaced it with a new one and issue solved !

Oh! That's something I've been meaning to do! I'll give it a shot.
