Hi my inner trunk light bulb doesn't turn on anymore and the trunk open message on the dash doesn't show either when the trunk is open..... i had a aftermarket spoiler put on so things were touched back there but i 100% know all wires are connected i did them myself.. Whats the cause and or what is the sensor that detects the trunk is open? the car beeps when the trunk is open sooo idk

Also side note any threads about upgraded the sub or amp? i want more bass i have a subwoofer but i rather use the oem stuff

update after some online research apparently the trunk light fuse or whatever is controlled by the trunk release latch i did hit mine a few times is it a replaceable fuse or do i need to replace the trunk latch? it works fine works manually and with power but it controls the light ?

Same issue

Same problem. My trunk light has gone out and it’s not the bulb. The dealer is saying that the wiring harness needs to be replaced. Sounds a bit extreme for just a small trunk light. Any suggestions?

Did someone mess with the wiring at some point in time? I don't see how they can just go out on its own. But someone messed with it (like a stereo shop) that could be the cause. Years ago on my old Integra I had a stereo shop install an alarm system. I didn't know anything about it, but later on when it was being inspected they told me the shop did a horrible job. I now wary of anyone touching the wiring of my car. Of course these days cars already come with alarm systems and there really isn't a need to upgrade stereos as the factory units are pretty good.

My car is seen and serviced only by my Acura Dealer and that is for normal service intervals. No stereo work done.

Found a fix!

So the problem is the trunk latch. If it doesn't fully retract it won't turn the light on or send a dash message. try once open pounding on the trunk relase latch on the trunk hard over and over. Then check if the light came on. if not then just get a stick and push the latch more in.

Mine needs to move about the thicness of a penny more for it to trigger. I'm gonna see how i can fix it maybe wd40
