Moving from NY to CA - Shipping Recommendations?

Apologies if this has been discussed here before. I'm moving from New York (Long Island) to Los Angeles this summer and am planning to have my ILX shipped out there. (It's leased, so I'm not going to drive cross-country and eat up 4,000 miles all at once.)

Can anyone recommend an affordable, reliable carrier? Any other recommendations would be welcome as well. Thanks in advance.

It's only 2,779 miles. Would make a really fun drive. I've heard good things about Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). Good luck and keep us posted!

Where exactly in LA?

If your ILX is a daily, it will be smart to ship it, as Californians tend to drive quite a bit compared to other states.

Once you get here just say LA rather than Los Angeles. Hope to see you around once you move.

Where is Los Angeles? Is that like a suburb of LA? Is it near SD?

Not sure yet; I'm thinking probably Pasadena. I'll be working downtown and I understand the commute is not that bad. I have friends in the Pasadena/Glendale area.

Commute isn't bad, but traffic will be a bitch.

@4cruzin - not sure if you were joking about the 2,779 miles, haha. Cuz seriously that would turn into 4,000 easy (maybe even more) because of all the stops and detours. Although I agree that would definitely be a fun trip if you plan it right...

So far estimates range from $1,200 to $2,500. Any additional recs would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also, any recommendations for residential movers would help too. Not liking the estimates I'm getting there either.
