I would not be surprised if the base model ended up being the 1.5T from the Si with a CVT (since they haven't mated the 1.5T to the 10AT before), but as long as they give us a Type S with the CTR motor all is forgiven. That said...I'm bracing myself for the announcement that they'll drop in the 272hp 2.0T + 10AT, slap on the Type S badge, and call it a day.

It will be the top model in the entire high-performance Type R family.

I think this says it all, if it is fact:

I would expect the Type-R version to distinguish itself mechanically from the CTR by having SH-AWD and a slightly mellower suspension tune.
Of course, one HUGE question is whether this means MT will return to Acura. Without MT available, I'm not sure it can live up to the Integra name and legacy.

From Motortrend: The new Integra is not a replacement for the discontinued Acura ILX compact sedan, the brand chief says. But it is an addition to the existing lineup that does seem to fill the segment gap with a much more exciting entrant.

Just read that Motor Trend piece, and I'm intrigued by the possibility that the Integra might be electrified to some extent. That would mean additional weight, but it could still be extremely cool. Either way, I'm not buying anything until I learn more about this.

The TLX and TL have always been the Vigor. I'm not sure what generation the Integra was ever Accord sized; the 3G Integra was considerably smaller than the 6G and 7G Accord of that era and has always been more Civic sized.

I had a 92 Integra GS back then, and it was a very simple car. Not much nicer than a Civic of the time. If people want it to on the scale of a Type R with that much power, and all the luxury bits, the next complaint will be the cost.

“The new Integra is being developed in Japan... The Integra will use the Honda Civic platform...It will help him achieve is goal of 200,000 annual Acura sales in the U.S. He is aiming for 180,000 sales this year, led by the Acura MDX.”
The rumors about the development of next gen Honda/ Acura sedans moving back to Japan are true (probably why we haven’t seen any spy shot yet and someone from the Acura subreddit claimed the ILX replacement was being moved around the Marysville Plant) Hopefully the new Integra gets the DWS from the TLX/ MDX, instead of using the struts in the civic. Last but not least the Integra is the new Flagship of the Acura brand.

That's what Motortrend reported Ikeda as saying, but it looks like they've since changed it to say "halo" instead of "flagship.

The word "halo" is vague enough that it can mean anything. If they are keeping the ILX and Integra as separate small sedans, that seems kind of crazy to me, given how unpopular sedans are now.
