I've been trying to keep this covered up but fuck it, some of you guys know I recently purchase my white 2016 ilx aspec from my dealership about a week ago so when I was doing the PDI and installing my aero kit I notice the ac blowing warm air, checked freon 0 lbs empty! Added freon started blowing cold, did Acura forgot to put freon?

Got car detailed 1st night took it home started blowing warm again wtf, so went back to my job next morning checked system 0 lbs of freon again! So performed evac and recharge and added dye in system to find leaks, remind you car only has 10miles. Found the damn evaporator leaking! Since am on vaca for a week had one of the other techs work on my car for me, I wasn't going in on my vaca and work on my own car.. Fucking Acura.

Of course this happens too my car and not a customers, not surprise though I've seen customers came back to the dealer with no freon in the car cause Acura forgot to put

keep in mind that the CEO that oversaw this current production is out due to QC issues.
we have a new CEO in place and he is a designer.

it's going to take a few years to see changes from the new CEO.

just keep in mind, the last CEO was let go due to QC issues.
this def. falls under bad Quality Control.

 

I'm taking mine into the dealer tomorrow to have the sunroof glass replaced. I found a tear/hole in the rubber molding around the sunroof, and it is a large one as well. I cannot figure out how nobody in QC found this during inspection. It is blatant as day. Pretty pissed and hope they don't screw up my interior taking the thing apart.

 

Sorry to hear all of this, guys. Hopefully everything works out ok for the both of you. Acura be goin' cray these days.

UPDATE: so the evaporator didn't fix my problem ordered 2 evaporator none didn't fit or lined up probably to the firewall. So Acura told me to try replacing the heater box, if the box shifted or deformed holding the evaporator... Of course dash has to come out... More updates later

Update: installed dash and heater box back in and a/c now works fine "hopefully".
My district manager did hook me up with some goodies at the end of the day I wish this still didn't happen to my own personal car though.
