Anyone purchased maintenance plan?
This advice also applies to nearly every expense in life. Have enough savings so you can cover unexpected expenses. I *might* consider a prepaid maintenance plan if it included a really hefty discount. Especially if you have a new ILX, you're under warranty for 4 years, and it's just routine maintenance you're paying for, none of which is especially big. If oil changes and tire rotations are difficult to cover in terms of cash flow, then you should really consider a cheaper car.

Yup. I'd invest in some tools and some testicular fortitude. In the next 4 years, with average annual driving distance, you'll be doing approx. 8 oil changes, 8 tire rotations (just move front to back), 2 air filters, 2 cabin filters, 1... maybe 2 ATF services, and 2 brake fluid services as your routine maintenance.
I buy my filters online (I have a case of Denso filters since the race cars, the Infiniti, and the MDX all take the same filter) and I have a 55 gal drum of Torco SR-1 0w20 (since my Silverado takes it too and it'll eat 9 qts each service on top of the 6 in the MDX).

Bought my 2019 ILX yesterday...and they tried pushing the extended 10 year warranty for $3600 and the 4 years pre-paid maintenance plan for $1500.
After I said declined, they cut the price down to $2999 and $1299.
Still said no!

Very typical behavior for the F&I department. In my case, I said no, because I was paying with a cashier's check I just got from my bank, and I can't change the amount. So I said no extras, I need to get out here in 5 minutes.
