Awesome!!! Lemme know if you need any help with it. Did you check your ecu to make sure it's compatible.

you should be fine...there are a limited run of 6speeds so I doubt there are various ecus floating around. I know that I'm good to go

So, my buddy drives a 2011 VW GTI with the DSG automatic.. he ran like a 9.33 in the 1/8th.. we are scheduled to go out to a local 1/4 mile track and throw down.. it's likely he will win. BUT by then I should have my downpipe and intake on.. cross our fingers that I throw down 200+whp on the eDyno cause he makes about 205whp stock and GOBS more torque, but he weighs more.
#49
Slip the clutch out just before vtec, should do you good on the stock tires.

LOL I was thinking the car can probably launch @ 3000
I should find a service road to practice the launches.. I haven't really put my car through the dead stop ringer yet.
#51
no no no, lol. By just below vtec, I mean 3000-3500.

I was gonna say LOL.. with some drag radials a harder launch would be cool. I am excited to see how bad of a driver I am!
#53
people are getting 14.8 / 14.9 on stock cars with stock tires...you should be able to get a 15.0 - 15.2 considering the lack of differential and the added 80/100 lbs of this vs the civic si

But if I break 200whp maybe that will be worth a few tenths.
#55
Full bolt-ons (I/h/e/tune) should chop a second.

PURE SEX.. that borla is sure louder than anticipated with the DP and SC isn't it lol
#57
wrong thread, lol. But, either way, the s/c is quiet because it's only running the 3.6 pulley and a very quiet intake (the takeda is like running a stock intake with a high flow filter).

The SC is plenty loud. The intake def looks like poop. But, that borla is real real loud.
#59
Yea, the sad thing is that the borla is one of the quieter ones in stock form so I feel like you aren't going to find much of a quieter exhaust. I'm going to get the Borla and add a resonator or two to quiet it down.

Watching the video where he's first getting out on the road kinda seems quiet.. hmm.. I wish he had some cruising videos.. like normal daily driving 0-40, getting on onramps ect..

Started it up! No leaks, makes it much deeper, not too noisy just deeper idle, nice whoosh from throttle

Sounds freakin awesome under throttle... Totally different motor sound

Now for the bad news.. The install of the downpipe is not nearly as easy on the ILX as it is on the Civic
#72
really? I thought there was more room in the ilx than on the civic

I dunno what it is but I think it's the electrical steering assit deal.. It's actually attach to that cover that you take off above the downpipe and its welded into the body of the car.. Where the Si it just comes right off
#74
did you get it installed though?
#75
and when do we get pictars?

LOL NOPE.. dude there is no way you're getting to it.. I am not even sure how a shop could without dropping the motor or something. The cowl above the DP is very much so welded into the body.. Acura is stupid for that but whatevez.
Wednesday. I went way too late into last night trying to take the car apart and I am busy tonight :\

My mechanic is looking at it tomorrow.
I should of put emphasis on the fact that it looked like it was nearly impossible to get back there... I am sure Acura has to change the Cats eventually.... I don't actually imagine it would require the motor being dropped out. But you sure do lean on that Si really hard. You've talked about it several times, I really just dont see what you're getting out of the Si that is worth losing money..

Maybe we can ask rv6 to create a 2 piece design? I can't wait to see the intake and stuff.
