2016 MMC ILX spied
Thinking like an evil Honda (you know Honda isn't alone in this) exec:
-if we go turbo, make it 2.0 and have just enough HP to match the current 2.4 ilx.
-we can say it's sportier because of the fabulous 8 speed dual clutch trans.
-we get rid of the manual, bwahaha.
-THEN We actually don't go turbo and add heavy all wheel drive in the mix.
Why? Because F our customers, that's why.
Lol sorry guys.

*LOL* Well...I much prefer the front of the MMC. I am just not sure if this spoiler is the accessory spoiler? Which one do you prefer?
I have the spoiler on our ILX and like how it wraps around the trunk lip.
These wheels look promising/better too. I Am really excited to see what it will look like on Nov 20th....

The 1.5-liter is expected to hit the market in 2016, probably early in the year, and is geared toward North America and Asia, Matsumochi said. Honda is considering use in such vehicles as the Acura ILX and Honda Civic and Accord, but nothing is decided, he said. "It has potential for a wide range of vehicles," he said. The 1.5-liter engine is seen as a replacement for 1.8-liter powerplants. Compared with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine, Honda said, the 1.5-liter turbocharged unit provided 15 percent better fuel economy and 45 percent better torque.

I prefer the smaller, less "obvious" spoilers myself, especially when they are "tack on" type spoilers. As a result it has a much more luxury feel to it while still adding a bit of edge to the look.
I'm actually really glad to see them get this right for once. This was one area they fubared with the TLX (and the RLX). The "tack-on" Aero kit is big, bulky, and just looks out of place because of it.

Timmy...Yes, I am talking about the headlight assembly but silver could be on to something about a turn signal integrated in the Jewel eye assembly....The pic shows an orange glow about the jewel head on the driver side
Do any of you guys think the LED strip around the headlights is a little bit redundant? I thought the jewel eye headlights was Acuras answer to the Audi Style headlights and there way of still being different. I like them a lot, but if they are going to add LED strip to the ILX's headlights, which possible might be added on to next gen TLXs and RLXs they might as well have just done projectors with the led strip in the first place and be like everyone else.
Basically what I'm saying is I dont like it on Acuras.

2016 Civic was spied heavily revamped despite being a refresh - including a new platform. That means this could mean that the 2016 ILX could also be on the same new platform. This could indicate that these big change to the ILX might be as big as we'd hope.

I'm so tired of people bitching and getting their panties twisted over hidden exhausts.
How many Mercs on the road have hidden exhausts? I see them daily. I hope you guys don't freak out the same and call merc conservative because they thought it looked good.
There is nothing conservative about a hidden exhaust. It's just a more simplistic look.
If you want to see your exhaust you can pick up nearly 8 out of 10 cars on the road and you'll get what you want. Go buy those cars stop beating this dead horse.

...I am not against the hidden tail pipe anymore actually...I like the cleaner look. I would still enjoy it if they really made it non visible but that is a separate issue.
Now can we make sure that the wood-only interior doesn't make it to the ILX...I can't understand why ALL version of the TLX have the wood interior

I'm hoping for a few things from the ILX:
- the 4 cyl engine from the TLX
- a 6 MT or the 8 DCT from the TLX
- improved sound insulation
- a slightly more aggressive design
If they can take the current ILX and improve a little I think it could be a big seller. The TLX 4 cyl would have excellent performance and fuel economy in the revised ILX.
A slim wish would be for Acura to also finally launch Apple Car Play too. Wishful thinking I'm sure.

I had a dream last night that more pics and details of the ILX MMC were leaked. In the dream, the 6MT was still available (not sure if it was paired to the DI 2.4 though). On top of that, there were visible exhaust tips on a sport trim of some kind (don't recall if it was Type-S or 6MT).
It was so real that when I woke up, I rushed to the computer to see if it was all for real, and you can guess the rest

When you start dreaming about these things, that's when you know you're obsessed

Good eye. Can't be real. The 2015 ILX is being sold on Acura's site as the current model. This update wont be until the 2016 model year.
That however is the clearest picture of the new tail lights so Im now curious where they got it!
