so, just to be clear, are you still in school? I remember some posts about how you were stressed with exams and the like.

Personally, as a 28 year old man, I don't like to think of it as "school." But essentially that's what it is. The good thing is that the NIH pays for my medical school tuition and gives me a healthy salary on top...So I guess I am being paid to go to school?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to undermine your education -- but, for all intents and purposes, it is a form of education, though a higher education.

P.s. did you go through a quarter life crisis? haha, I feel as though I'm an old man as each day passes me by...and I'm 26. I feel like I need to hit my goal of home/condo ownership soon. And, I need that six figure salary before 30.

Haha, same here. Bought a home, got married, bought first new nice car...check, check, and check. I guess I'm a mature old man...but always feel like a kid at heart!

As far as getting paid by 30...no way its gonna happen for me. But at least I don't have $200,000 in med school debt!

So where did you spdandpwr (others too) learn about modding cars?

I was into cars since hot wheels. When I was a little kid I would see people drive around with modded cars and I was like I want that and it then ballooned to the obsession that I have now.

Alright, so did you just pick it up yourself by just fiddling with old cars or did someone else teach you?

A lot of independent business men/women!... and the college student...jk

Nothin' fancy. I manage operations in a contact center for a telco.

Doing the same just in a different order. Get married, buy car, buy house. Livin' the dream.

TGIF everyone! Question for everyone for over the weekend. If money was not a factor what car would you be driving. Thanks to 00TL-P3.2 for the idea...

...and whats with everyone being so modest about his/her position in life? Everyone is doing great things in his/her life no matter the job...

What would I be driving if money wasn't an object?

I would still be driving my ZDX.

Thinking about this...if you mean as my every day driver...then my ILX. I would love a Ferrari or Porsche but I'm hesitant to believe they would be as livable (and reliable) on a day to day basis, driving all over the city. But I would still want manual, so that eliminates most higher-end luxury sedans right off the bat, as nice as they would probably be. I'd just want a small, fun-to-drive, fairly quiet, nicely appointed stick-shift sedan, which is what I have.

Now if you mean, what OTHER car would I have in my garage...probably a Porsche Boxster S, 6MT. That, in my mind, is the most extravagant car I could see myself possibly affording some day.

I am the type of guy that would perfer to drive a normal car, that I made fancy instead of a porsche or ferrari. For example, the smart car that had the 1000cc motor strapped in the passenger seat and converted to RWD.

I got Married, Bought a House, then the ILX all in about 3 months time . Time to give my credit report time to cool down.

Be careful and while we are on the subject...which car would you drive out if needed? The Infiniti or the ILX?

my brother needed a car so I gave him the infiniti (which originally replaced my mdx). Biggest mistake of my life is letting him take the car. Its now over miles and he trashed the thing and he lets his gf drive it...ugh, family ftl

On the topic of the infiniti. It's not as fun to zip around in (feels very heavy), but it's got way more luxury and features than even my mdx did. Infiniti makes some great cars.

Wow you are reaping some good karma...no need to worry about Sandy! I hope your brother is at least making the payments. That's a seriously nice car to give up!

Hi all, I'm alive and well post-sandy! Thanks rxj27 for your message! I've finally made it into the office and now I'm trying to plow through 200+ emails

Still have no power either, but I'm happy my home is in-tact.

8 posts in 15 minutes! Good to have you back speed and power. Glad you survived the sound and the fury. This place was like the ghost and the darkness during your leave (cricket chirp, cricket chirp)...

I saw some posts during my leave, but definitely surprised at the lack of forum participation especially in the wake of SEMA. Those ILX's looked great and, if anything, served to showcase the potential of this platform. I'm glad I picked this car and can't wait to version out my Type-S.

Glad to hear you and your home weathered the storm. It truly was a major disaster in some areas with a lot of work to be accomplished to get life flowing again for many areas. My thoughts are with those who lost so much so quickly and glad to hear you weren't one of them.

Aside from the 2 ILXs, what are some the cars that stood out at SEMA?

Here's my pick:

Daniel Song killed it...That thing just looks EVIL.

Thanks! I gotta hand it to the MTA for restoring commutation to and from the city in such a timely fashion. Truly impressed at the speed and relative seamless-ness of their restoration.

I hate parking under trees for that reason!

I plan on responding to your SEMA post once I actually see all of the cars that were there. I'm still trying to play catch-up lol
