1G ILX Chat, Chit, and General Info Thread
2nd choice would be PMM, but I'm patient & can wait for a FBP.
Now just have to decide (when we're ready to shop) whether to get a '13 or try to hold out for a '14 & hope for Earth Dreams.
That's the plan right now, because we need to get a few things paid off before we add on a car note.
It'll be offset just a tiny in the MPG savings over the TL (though I'm getting around 23-27, usually about 24.5MPG in the TL). 75% of my commute is on the highway.
Anyone heard anything on ED engines making it into the ILX?

My realistic numbers (not of the MID) is 27.5 on 50/50 drives.. ** I should mention I NEVER drive like a grandma lol... never.. and I probably wont ever be able to.. the car is too fun to take through gears.
33 on 80/20 drives. I haven't had the opportunity of running an entire tank of gas on the highway so I dunno how that would be. I imagine probably 35ish.. it tends to sit between 35/40 on the gauge but the hills and such will reduce that number in areas enough to drop the average.

I was averaging less and driving more friendly so I'd say it'll go up after your oil change.
I'm mostly do city as well and that is just about what I am getting with two oil changes and 7k in.
^ this.. I have a feeling the dual damper shocks wont be too stiff-spring friendly.. It will probably load them quicker into that second stage and may affect the ride more than usual. But, DO IT an then let us know lol
Found Civic SI stock suspension for 200 bucks...I'm going to get that with aftermarket springs. I'm willing to try that to get a quick and dirty drop for now. It'll definitely last the 25k miles on the stock struts / shocks.
If you can't find it for less than $300, than you may as well skip buying the stock suspension. That's because you'll have to factor in the cost of springs. Given that, I think the HFP will provide greater results for about $700
Does the Si sit lower than the ILX? The Eibachs are supposed to be like a inch and a half or so from their height.. I'd say you're still going to have plenty of clearance. I will probably go 1.5 front and back on my coilovers when I get them.
