new sub hook up to reciever?

Need some help with a couple of questions,

This is the back of my reciever (onkyo R530 from a HT-S780 system), it only has one line in connect for the sub.

I was thinking of buying this to upgrade but the connection has 2 inputs (L/R)

Can i still use it? If so, what do i need? Would i need one of those 2 into 1 "Y" cables?

TIA

Typically, the left input would be used for a mono hookup. I am not familiar with this particular sub, but this is typical with most. If it doesn't support a mono hookup, then you can just buy a y connector as you said.

Plug into either L or R. It should work.
Sometimes a "Y" connector will drive the subwoofer harder and engage it's "AUTO ON" circuitry quicker.

Have fun!
