does comcast really have 500 HD channels?

I keep seeing these commercials about how cumc...comcast has 500 HD channels. I call but I'm curious, does anyone know for sure?

No. They claim to have 500 different HD programs, and 90% are the on-demand feature. By their logic Blockbuster has 2,000 HD channels.

All I know is that the quality of our signal has decreased since Comcast took over our local cable company. The picture isn't as good, and I've been waiting since freaking February for a damn HD cable box. Yeah......not so happy with Comcrap right now.

And yes, they count the on-demand channels in their HD lineup.

Another thing about that commercial, they're talking about a certain time 7:12. In order for them to have that much at that time, they'd have to have 500 channels. Amazes me that it's still being shown.

I would call the local Government Office that is in control of your local cable franchise. I had a few problems with Cox years ago, I was called about two hours after making a call to the Franchise Office.

I have comcast in my dorm. Of course I dont get ANY HD AT ALL because they dont give me a box.....

If you look at the fine print on the commercial it says "content" not channels.

Just a guess but I think the OP might have DirecTV. We had that and switched to Verizon FiosTV early this year. We love it and they just added a bunch of new HD channels. FiosTV > DirecTV > :communistcast.

Yup, I have DirectTV I got so sick of Charter Communications, I finally made the move. FiosTV was not available so I decided to continue to go to DirectTV and I love it!!

I thought that cumcast commercial seemed kind of odd, claiming that it had 500 HD channels. I don't even know if it had 500 channels period.
