Time for a new grill

The Vermont Castings grill I bought here https://acurazine.com/forums/home-ga...-313445/page2/
is giving up the ghost. It's rusting out and the regulator just gave up. VC doesn't make grills anymore.

It does not seem like there are many choices available in my price range ($400-$500). I'm considering the Weber Spirit II e-310. Anything else in this range I should be looking at? I got 12 years out of the last one, I want something that will last 10+ years.

I don't feel the need to step up to the Genesis. I mainly do burgers and chicken breast and my VC was good at that.

I have the (2) burner version of that grill it works great! Replacement parts are reasonably priced and readily available too. I also really the Weber anti-stick spray.

Genesis is definitely better than the Spirit. If you can swing it, I would. If not, you'll still do well with the Spirit.

You might be able to get a Genesis on sale with the upcoming holiday if you can hold off. I know I got mine during a holiday sale a few years back and got $100 off. Like same said though if you can't do the Genesis the Spirit will still do well.

I have a ~12 year old grill from Costco that I love. It was originally made by Sure Heat and the burner elements finally deteriorated to the point it was not going to work anymore. I didn't want to replace it because, in addition to the three standard burners, it has a infra-red burner that I use all the time to sear, and it seemed silly to replace an otherwise great grill. I was not hopeful that I would be able to find a replacement burner assembly, but I found this site (https://www.clagrills.com/) and they have parts for most grill brands and even old models, and had the burner assembly for $70. Can't wait to install it and bring the grill back to life.

I picked up a four burner Broil King a few months back. I was looking at the Genesis line but I've read that all of their stuff is no longer made in North America. Not sure how much that's worth to you though.

Welp I went shopping and I ended up coming home with a new regulator/hose for $20 and got the grill going with that. I think I'll be able to get another season out of the grill and then hopefully end up getting a new one on clearance in September.

Stogie, that site you mentioned is awesome. If the back of the cook box and legs weren't starting to rot out I think I could have got it back to 100%.

Brickseek.com and get you some clearance, Lowes had a crazy Weber clearance last year.

I rebuilt my 2013 vintage Weber Genesis 3-burner grill.

- Replaced igniter system eaten by mice that set up their home in the grill.

- Replaced burners because the heating was inconsistent.

- Replaced heat shields and flavorizer bars because that’s what the vermin had been living on.

- Replaced original stainless steel grates with aftermarket cast iron.

- Replaced the firebox because I am a dumbass and broke off a cast boss attempting to remove a screw that didn’t need removing.

Seasoned the grates, and made my first burgers last night. Really nice sear marks, even cooking, and no sticking to the grates. Works better than new.

I've been thinking about swapping out the SS grates for cast iron on mine. I like how cast iron retains heat.
