Need BBQ Grill advice
I've had a decent weber for about 4.5 years now and I need to replace the grates, bars under the grates and the burners, this will run me about $130. ALso, all the paint on the inside is peeling off, so I need to repaint that as well. The grill has a lot of rust on it and hence why i'm replacing a lot of the parts. I use to use the grill roughly 3-5x's a week, but the last 3-4 months i've been lagging just cause the thing is a wreck.
Now my question is, do I go and buy a new one? Or should I replace the parts in this? If I buy a new one I have roughly $500 to spend, any recommendations?

and in all honesty, i wouldn't mind spending a good amount more if I knew i'd get a good amount of time out of it and it was a quality piece.

I have a 15 year old weber that I got from my dad. He bought a brand new 1000 dollar grill. A jenn-air or something. I took the old weber and replaced everything inside, bars, grills, etc, and changed the old wood to new plastic. I love it, and he is still kicking himself for giving away the grill. The new jenn-air sucks.
My :twocents:
EDIT: Also, all the paint on the lower is peeling in mine too but it doesn't really bug me. Still gets up to 500 when i need it too.

The sizzle in the Steak
I have a turbo (from barbeques galore) and it is the best grill I have ever owned.
You can get a propane model for around 5-6 hundred to start.
They are not cheap...but they are high quality and are an excellent cooking system.

So far I have been real happy with this Vermont Casting grill from HD
It is $400.
I've only had a it about a month though. It cooks nice and even. I put burgers on the main grates and hot dogs up on the higher ones. They all finish at the same time. I've had no problems with steak or chicken either.
If you don't need a side burner or an extra large cooking area, consider it. So far it has plenty of cooking area for my family, but my kids don't eat much yet.

I agree, I bought this grill shortly after the Soopa thread and love it. I also have a Holland. It is a great grill as well, but does not cook steaks and burgers very well. It just does not get HOT enough. It does do chickens, hams, ribs, roasts, etc very well.
If you want to spend a penny or two, buy an Alfresco. IMO it is the best in the world. Be prepared to spend a couple of K though.
