Wife and I decided to stay in the condo for another 2-3 years and save $. My office is turning into a nursery so I am moving the office downstairs. As I was down there taking measurements I decided to repaint and replace all the moldings and door trim. I'm also going to install carpet, so it will be a living room/office that consists of about a 320 sq ft room. Now that I work from home, I'd like to make it comfortable.

Also replaced the patio door and the kitchen window yesterday. What a PITA but worked out fine. I'll update with some pictures in the next few days.

Here are some pictures with the updates. I can't wait to be done with all of this.
Patio door:

Still need to paint the outside but put up all the moldings, ready for paint

New kitchen window

Still trying to source 2 more windows for the bedrooms

Re-staining the nightstands to get rid of some staining that happened when some eucalyptus oil spilled

Still working on the basement. This office will be turned into the baby room:

Basement has been painted, and I need to source a water leak from the tub, then the new carpeting will be put in and I will install new white molding around the floor and doors

This is the desired look, I want to get commercial grade carpet just due to it being a basement but want something more comfortable than it is right now since it'll be my work space/second living room.

Still a lot to go but will work on it slowly over the course of the next few weeks. I bought the paint for the baby room, once the basement is finished, I'll start working on that. We've always had a second living room in the basement, but it has never really been used. I didn't even really heat the basement, now I just bought a new dehumidifier and will actually make it part of the living space in our condo.

Finally done with the carpet! I did it over the course of the last few days a few hours at a time, pretty happy with the result. Currently at about 65 degrees with the dehumidifier going, hoping it'll dry quickly.

Here are some recent pictures. Picking up the white 3 1/4" plastic molding tomorrow and will start putting that in. My goal is to be done by EOD Friday and start moving the furniture down this weekend so we can start on the nursery.

allright, the moldings are in and I moved the office furniture downstairs today. Only thing left is rugs/coffee table/paintings for the wall. Here are some pics. I'm glad this project is done.

Holy sheeeeet. Well, the baby room is finally done and she's home so I had no choice but to finish it. Baby room got a few updates; new window, new paint, new paint on moldings, new closet door and I steam cleaned the carpet 3 times. I'll update with pictures soon enough.

It's been nice working in the basement, it's been a constant 68-70 degrees down here, I have my work laptop, my iMac, and Apple TV hooked up to the 46" with live mirroring from the iPad. All set up.
Yesterday, I added one more piece of furniture to the basement, the play pen/bassinet

Finally got around to taking some pictures.

We are done with all the windows, amazing how nice it is now, place actually keeps the temperature inside. I think I am finally pretty much out of projects, although we may re-do the bathroom soon. We are at 3 years next month, might list it for sale soon and look for something a little bigger.

Anyway, here is the finished baby room:

This was the room before:

And my wife decided to make a new project, we have some very old dressers she's trying to make a little more modern. Also doing a little yard work/weeds killing to make the outside a little nicer.

Had a pretty decent weekend. Started Friday afternoon and finally done for the day. Here are some pictures (sorry for the quality, haven't even had time to take the DSLR out):

Before:

Demolished everything Friday afternoon

Cement boards in shower and on the floor

Started tiling the shower

Tile is on

Went with a 5x20 porcelain floor tile, almost looks like hardwood floors

Put the cabinet in to measure everything up and cut a hole in the counter top for the sink. Took is back out to grout floor/shower.

Floor with grout

Shower with grout

And here is how it all sits now, drying

Sanding the walls down tomorrow and applying texture, then priming/painting throughout the week and start putting in all the fixtures and hooking everything back up.

I am leaving on a work trip Tuesday morning, kind of looking forward to getting away from this project. My contractor is going to finish anything that is left after tomorrow in his own so I can come home to a fully functional bathroom and move my wife/kid/dog back home.

Thanks guys. I'm just glad there were no surprises once we took everything out.

Today, we sanded the walls down and primered the walls and ceiling. I'm leaving on a work trip, so the contractor will finish everything throughout the week. I can wait to get back Friday night and see it, put in the finishing touches in Saturday and be done with it.

Unfortunately we only have one bathroom, so we have been staying with my in laws throughout this process. I'm ready to go back home.

Been a little crazy but here are some updated pictures. My wife went shopping today and bought all the towels/accessories/curtain that were needed and everything is finally in.

Just a couple small finishing touches left, but everything is functional and we moved back into our condo Saturday morning.

Here are some pics:

I love this floor

I'm PUMPED that it's over with. No more projects, everything is done.
