My bedroom remodelling project

We did this faux painting, copper leafing on ceiling and wood molding work in our master bedroom. What do you think? Is it over done? We started with diff color paint but did not like it so ended up putting glaze and other effects and eded up like this.

BTW, this cheappo funiture is gone and have a hardwood furniture now.

I like it. I don't see anything wrong with trying to be different.

And are those two little windows above/behind your bed?

Yes Scott those are little windows. Also on the wall on the right (you cannot see it in picture) we have one more window in front of the bed. We get a lot of light so I was trying to get some bold color to absorb most of it.

Looks great - kinda "Trading Spaces" esq. My only critique would be the room outclasses the cheepo furniture but it sounds like you've taken care of that. Good stuff.

Yes! That is taken care of. This was my old furniture I was using from the olden days, until the new one arrived. I'll take more pics with new furniture.

Thanks. You like the bed-spread? I was trying to cover all the mess under it.

The bold color and trim work, but I doubt you're getting much, funtionally or aesthetically, from the two high windows flanking the bed. Moreover, they are in sharp contrast to the large expanse of window along the one wall. Might try to "fake drape" those windows with the same material as your other drape, and let it run to the floor, thus hiding the window and increasing their apparent size while also completely concealing them for the most part. Given the symmetricality of the room, two symmetrical Window Head/floor drapes, not tied back but left full to drape, might enhance the bed wall. It would also introduce more 'soft" material into the room for visual and acoustic purposes.

Thanks Ric. Good suggestions for what I'm trying to do. Let me try that.

I was about to say, that it looked nice but that the furniture looked "EL CHEAPO". But I felt guilty telling you that and then I read your last sentence where you admitted it.
