Master Shower FINALLY done - Pics

Not sure if everyone knew the scenerio... but our master bath has been an ongoing thing. First they grouted the wrong color and stained it before we closed. Then the stain started chipping about 3 months in and the white was coming through. So they tried to stain it again, but the stain was too dark since it was essentially two coats. So they scraped up ALL of the grout in the entire bathroom and regrouted. Finally got the grout right except in the shower area. For some reason it was 3 different colors in there. So they scraped up ALL of the grout in the shower area and regrouted. Got it right this time. Problem is, with all of the grouting, the trowels (sp?) scraped and scratched tiles. 37 ceramic and 11 deco tiles to be exact. So they had to replace those also.

Because of all of the problems we bitched and moaned and made them tile the basin of the shower for free. So when they did that they ripped out the old enclosure. While that was out we decided we wanted a seamless enclosure (which is something we were planning to do anyway)... so we worked with our builder and the door company and had that done too. So basically we got about $3,000-$3,500 worth of work in the shower done for a little under $1100, which was part of the enclosure (the builder paid for the other $900 of that).

So anyway, enough jibberish... on with the pics....

Master Shower before....

You could have a party in that thing. That looks almost identical to our shower! I love, don't you?

lol at the replies. Thanks guys.

It's nice to finally have our bathroom back. They've only been working on it for 8 months. Just need to give it to tomorrow to let the sealant dry and we'll be golden!

The seamless shower looks way better than the trimmed aluminum version. Congrats.

Yeah, it looks sooo much better. When we built they told us seamless was not an option, and our only two choices were aluminum and brass. So we went with the aluminum since we figured it would disappear more. It looked OK, but the new enclosure and tiled floor blow the old setup away. And the price was right too (can't go wrong having the builder pick up ~70% of the tab )

^ Yeah. The thing feels so much bigger now even though the dimensions of the shower hasn't changed. I showed in there last night for the first time and it feels huge!! Feels like there's so much more space...

Looks great, but needs more shower heads.

When it is big enough for 2 it should be functional for 2.

I love the tumbled look of the tile.

We were going to get a 6 head system installed when we built the house... but water is freakin expensive down here, so we decided against it. 1 shower head works just fine. Two people can shower easily in there...

That looks great! I wish I had a shower like that. You said water is expensive, what state are you in?

North Carolina. When we were in NY we paid about $40 per quarter max (usually averaged around $33/quarter). Down here we average about $50-$60/mo in the winter and $120-$140/mo or so in the summer.

That is expensive. I just sold my house in holden last week, but when I lived there last year, my water bill was similar to yours. I remember 1 month last year when I ran 6 zones twice a day for 15 minutes, my water bill for the month was an outrageous $350! No water band either. You take a beating in small towns I guess.
