Need Pool info

I am wanting to get an inground pool installed and cannot find any info that would prepare me for the amount I should expect to spend or what to look out for when getting a pool or what type of material the pool should be. Can any of you guys who owned, install or have worked on one help me out?

· I wish there was a pool forum, but heck I am sure some here own or used to own a pool and can share your thoughts and feelings about them.

I do live in heat wave Texas so a pool use would be allot (2 kids come into play ages 8 and 3).

Here is the site we did pretty much 99% of our online research on: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/pools/

Some info here too: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/index.php

Check those forums, especially the first one.. and you should be able to see what people in your area spent on pools as it varies slightly by location.

I also sent you a PM in response to yours with some info. One thing I forgot to mention is that during the research phase of the project, be sure to talk to anyone and everyone with a pool. When we were looking we walked around our community and knocked on the door of every single person who had a pool to talk to them about the builder they used, the construction experience, and so on. We got great tips that way and also got great feedback about several different builders which we factored into our decision. Again, as mentioned in the PM... we did not choose the cheapest builder, but the one we felt would do the best job while staying within our budget.
