Pool Automatic Cleaners

What kind of automatic pool cleaners do you guys have?

we need one for our pool (28,000 gallons, 12 feet deep) and prices are now very steep...

Polaris, by many people have been known as the expensive yet best working brand of cleaners, yet some say they are low in quality and too expensive

The Letro Legend had been a more higher rated and lower priced cleaner that the Polaris, yet for the one we need, it needs a booster pump..... not good for us

The "Dolphin" was told to us by a fellow doctor and he has said it was the best he had owned out of the 10 or so he returned. I believe it is fully electronical - just plug into an outlet

any skimmer attatching cleaner are out of the question because of our pump....
anybody have any input on these???

Well, ours came with the pool, but we have a Polaris. Not sure of the model off-hand, but it's there new 2006 model as I've been told by the pool company who came to start our equipment. Quality seems excellent, it keeps the pool nice and clean, and it's very easy to clean out. It's hooked up to its own pump, so I can time the cleaning different from the filter itself.

Next time I'm outside (either later today or tomorrow), I'll see if there's a model number on it...

I have a Polaris 360 and like it. One of the nice things is you can buy a rebuild lit for about $100 that replaces all the parts except the outer housing. A lot cheaper than buying a new one when the time comes.

Looked at the one with a seperate pump (380?), didn't see any advantage to justify the expense of a second pump. I probably run the 360 more than I need to but it's no extra cost.

Well everything is run underground and integrated into the pool on ours. We have a seperate connection in the pool for the vacuum that we just hook into. That connection is powered by its own pump, so it's on its own timer, and runs completely seperate from the filter...

Well the biggest advantage is that you seperate out the filter and vacuum, so each does it's own thing. Increases life on both units. Plus, we paid zero extra for this setup... so the price was right

Thw one that came with our pool was a positive pressure vac that collects the debris and sand in it's body. One of the jets on the pool were plumbed seperatly, and I run it at a certain pressure by itself. It just scoots around the pool and cleans it. If I notice it is acting sluggish, or at least twice a week, I yank it out of the pool and empty it.

Works good...
