major appliances

i am moving soon and well i need to buy all my major appliances over again.
from washer,dryer,refrigerator,oven,cooktop,microwave,h ood,dishwasher everything.

i cant figure where i can go to get warehouse deals, i was planning to go to the expo center from the home depot company but they closed down and went out of bussiness. and now the only place i can think of are small places like sears and best buy. but these places only offer a very limited selection.

does anyone know where i should go to in the bay for some big selection and prices?

The Expo center did go out of business, but Home Depot is still open and sells those items. Then you do have Sears, Lowes and other smaller Appliances stores that your area should have.

Home Depot and Lowes has a really nice selection and the prices are pretty good.

HD, Sears and Lowes carry the regular consumer lines, but fewer of the higher end(i.e. expensive to buy and repair) appliances.

HD carries a great deal in its catalog (purchased as "special orders," IIRC) and nowhere near as much on the floor. I don't recall if that is how Sears works, but Sears had more refrigerators and fewer washers, dryers or microwaves than HD on the floor.

If looking at a house full of upper-end appliances, consider saving $$ by checking to see if a design consultant has fees less than the the discounted price they are given.

Even with regular appliances, OP may be able to dicker and get some additional discounts (besides just free delivery) if a number of purchases and deliveries are made at once. IDK how much room chain store salespeople have for this compared to locally-owned stores, though.

I've used Sears for all my major appliance so far. Good prices, fast delivery. The only exception being the Viking cooktop, which Sears doesn't carry.

Going forward I will be avoiding GE appliances. Their quality has gone down hill in the last 10 years.

Whatever brand you are looking for, be it Viking, Wolf/Sub-Zero, Meile, Bluestar, etc. go to their websites. They will have a page to find local dealers and showrooms in your area.

I'm in the same boat - Home Depot has a decent selection but I like Miele products and they don't carry them.

There are a lot of smaller, high end appliance shops in San Rafael and over in the east bay that have decent prices.

GE makes some decent stuff

So I decided to do all the research in store but buy from us appliance. Free shipping (well, pay 30 dollar fuel surcharge but you can order whatever you want) and best prices on most items.

I found my Miele dishwasher cheaper at pacific sales but otherwise the stove, wine cooler, fridge, etc. were better deals shipped.
