Half soft water

I know everyone's water softener and water quality is different. My setting is 16, but I don't like the feel of it. I just don't feel like I'm rinsing all the soap off. So I set it back down to 8.

Is "half soft" water still better than hard water? Or is there such a thing as half-soft water?

No such thing. It's either soft or not. There can be less minerals in it so it's not as hard but it's still not soft.

Hardness is measured by grains. Zero is soft.

You have to get over that feeling, and know that it's clean after normal rinsing.

It was probably set too high for your town's water if you feel that slimey.

My in-laws have a softener and I can't stand the slimy feeling when the salt runs low.
