Did you want to be in the dosing tank or the holding tank?

Front stone. A little of the drip cap still needs doing by the window that is being replaced.

Couldn’t go inside today ... drywall sanding going on.

Driveway and walks are done.
Drywall priming tomorrow.
Garage doors and openers this week to button it up.

Landscapers working on the hardscape in the back.

That fireplace is amazing! I didn;t realize how much lake-view you had until these pics, that's incredible. Hopefully there is a good bird population there.

Also, your back lawn in that last pic looks better than mine right now...

Stogie— lots of birds in the lake and woods during the summer. Cranes, herons, ducks, hawks, falcons, eagles, owls, and turkey vultures are the large ones.

Gatr— my basement woodworking shop will be almost twice the size of my current space.

Should be standard temperate climate stuff. Not much large or particularly venomous around here.

There are snapping turtles in the large pond that venture out. One of my future neighbors has a dog that lost part of his nose to one.

I am expecting my back yard fence to by and large keep them out.

Every June 24th I send my toilets out to be cleaned, which renders my house uninhabitable.

That fire place is amazing. With the great view you have to the back right I would live outside as much as I could. The stone looks great. What color will the hosue above the stone be?

Siding should be going on soon; I got an email from Hardie that my builder submitted my 100% Hardie warranty application.

Wow the grey with white trim and black windows looks really good. I have the same colors on my house minus the black windows. That really looks so much better than beige windows.

With the wood porch roof be painted or stained?

The porch roofs will be painted. I love the look of stained wood but it is such a pain on the exterior.

Since this is intended to be our golden years house, we are all about easy maintenance.

I'm not in my golden years and I still get the desire for wanting things that are easy to maintain already.

Hardie looks great! We went with Hardie as well, similar colour but a bit darker. We replaced old aluminum and we used to hear the wind go through it. Now all is quiet! I will warn you that it scuffs easily since it's just a painted surface. But they should provide you with some touch-up paint.

Floors are done. Tiling continues. Snow and rain have gotten in the way of exterior progress.

Mud room off the garage. Dog wash on the left. There will be a utility sink and the washer/dryer along the wall.

Reclaimed barn wood for the mantle.

Tub/shower tile in progress in the Jack & Jill bathroom.

Loving the tile work!

I have always wondered with the larger shower tiles (the lighter ones on the fixture wall in the last pic), does the bottom row mortar have to dry before the next row is installed (and so on) so it can support the weight of the tile above it or is it all placed at once and the little spacers take the weight while the mortar dries?

Is there plumbing in the dog wash station or will you run a hose/shower handle from the utility sink?

I think the spacers take the weight while the adhesive dries.

The dog wash has a hand shower on the other side of the little knee wall.
