converting heat types

Im looking at purchasing a house that has baseboard heat....i was wondering if anyone has converted a house that has baseboard heat to a heat pump system, and if so how much did it run??
everyone tells me that a house with baseboard heat is expensive to use.

Well before you start converting, talk to the realtor and see if you can find out what the utility bills are.

Is it gas or electric baseboard? Baseboard heat is actually pretty nice. It's basically the same as the old radiators. My parents have it in an addition we put in and it keeps the room nice and toasty and it's not dry like central air.

Does the house have central air for cooling? If so, that makes it much easier.

I think its gas baseboard heat, i just thought central heat pump is more efficent and less costly.
