Bunch of pussies crying at night

About 2 months ago I heard a cat fight outside my window and I immediately thought "wtf?" and "now I feel poor". When I moved here almost 2.5 years ago there was only 1 cat that I would see on the street, but now I regularly see 5 and 3 of those seem to hang out by my shed out back ( ) and its starting to get annoying. Last month the original cat was on top of my shed and the others were around it and it was literally meowing so loud that I thought it was dying until I walked outside and saw the spectacle. Now my thoughts were, go buy a bb gun and have some fun. I google news "bb gun shoot cat" and up pops a few articles of people shooting the cats then being charged with murder so that option is out. Now I'm thinking of trapping them and taking them to the shelter..... or 10 miles away from my house. My main complaints are the noise at night, I walk outside and it smells like shit, my wife is allergic, and I don't want them around my daughter just incase they don't have shots or even if they do just the thought of one scratching her.

Any other useful suggestions?

Go to a shelter. Get a dog. Leave it outside. It will scare away the cats.

After cats are gone, return dog to shelter.

Rinse and repeat.

OR

Put an ad on craigslist, free Cats. Capture them, and give it to person on craigslist.

Someone is feeding them. Find out who. End the food supply and they will leave.

2012 Wagon has some good ideas. hahaha

Id get a dog... but if you guys dont want a dog call animal control and explain the situation.
"Look, I am about to BBgun the shit out of these felines but I dont want to get arrested for animal cruelty. Please get rid of them before I buy a dog and let nature take it's natural course."

^^LOL

At least with the rattle snakes and mountain lions around here, Cats seem like a nuisance problem in comparison.

BUt I feel for the OP. Had to deal with it a few years ago

When I got home the neighbor dog was going bezerk and the cats were kickin it on my shed, so Im just tired of it. I called animal control but that was 10 min before 5 o clock so I didn't expect anyone to pick up. I'll call tomorrow and see what they can do. On their website it only mentions that they capture and relocate "wildlife", so hopefully that's not the key word that gets them out of catching cats.

Well fwiw the only experience I've had with Animal Control was successful.

My parents used to live behind these people that had these 2 dogs that would not. fucking. stop. barking. Even if you've been living there for a decade and the dogs should be used to you, they still bark their heads off. Eventually Animal Control was called and while they couldn't take the dogs away, they did go up to their door and telling them to shut their fucking dogs up.

It worked The couple that lived there kept their dogs inside from that day on.

Turn the hose on them a few times. Eventually they'll get the message and leave.

Or, try something a little more natural. See about having a large dog come and pee all over the place to mark their territory. The cats may smell it and avoid the area.

I think you have your answer right next door. Those cats feel safe. Borrow your neighbors dogs for a day.

I like the hose idea too. Buy a cheap pressure washer attachment and drench the damn cats. I'd chase them for days and probably enjoy it. Hahahaha

I had to chuckle since I'm currently having tranny troubles with my TL.

But to stay on course with the thread...

we have a dog and we have no wildlife at all in our backyard...even squirrels are scared to come in. The only problem now is an abundance of acorns..

It does more then that. My aunt had wildlife problems... cats, squirrels, mice, etc. 1st week my aunt got her dog... the backyard was a warzone. Lets just say not even "unfamiliar" people will want to venture back there there.

Just go and pee around your property, it will mark your territory and the cats will stay away.

Be careful for the potential indecent exposure charge though

I'm still figuring out how to wire one of those to my inground sprinkler system.

My stupid neighbor loves to cross thru my front lawn to get to the other neighbors house. Also they let their dogs make in their front lawn and always shits on my side of the lawn.

If the cats are coming on to your property, get a cat trap. You can either buy them or sometimes get them from the animal shelter. Once caught, take it to the animal shelter and they'll see if the cat(s) have their shots and potentially put them up for adoption if they're suitable for that.

If not, they'd likely be put down- I myself don't like the thought of putting an animal down, ever, but in such a case, if it can't be brought to live with humans, maybe it shouldn't be around human populations where bad things can happen, like to your daughter or something. Not being biased either- I don't think crazy humans should be out and about either.
