Insanity Program

One on the right for me
You will probably see that you are taking in more calories than you think. It will also allow us to look at your eating habit and hopefully make some positive suggestions.
How soon after waking up do you eat?

Started Insanity again this week. Between hitting the gym pretty hard everyday and this, I'm dying. It's awesome though, the last few days I already noticed I've had more energy and I'm getting some flexibility back.

Use it as motivation! Also keep in mind he took the Shakeology shakes. I wouldn't necessary take those, you can find better tasting, healthy and cheaper meal replacement shakes elsewhere. I'm sure he didn't drink during this process either. With determination you can get lean, you just have to stick with it.

Just sux to be suffering this much and not seeing the results i want.
I'm probably just too fat to see any difference.

Well let's just put it this way. If you didn't do those programs, you might be even further up on the scale

Try to build some confidence and believe in what you're doing and I think you might start to see some better results. It's hard to believe that anyone would not see results from insanity if they're actually following the program.. unless you live on yodels and donuts.

Depends on your level of effort too, and I believe with any program, what you eat/drink has a HUGE impact on your results. If you're willing to share your daily intake on a regular basis I'm sure we can find some things you can eliminate.

Three Wheelin'
Just started it and on my 4th day. I started out sick and still recovering coughing up phlegm and stuff so I'm currently not able to do as crazy/insane stuff yet.
I was enrolled in some bootcamp exercise for about 10 months but cancelled the membership 3 weeks ago, due to potentially moving in a different location (still waiting to close on a house). But anyways I definitely think bootcamp helped me when I'm doing insanity as I am not as exhausted. Can't wait to feel better as I'm currently only functioning around 65-70%.
I'm around 5'9 at 190lbs, medium to muscular build with a body fat of around 10-11%. I'm hoping to lose 10lbs on this program. When I was in bootcamp I lost 15 lbs, from close to 200lbs down to 185lbs.

I had a burned copy, but my wife and I recently bought it BNIB off ebay for just under $80 shipped. We'd gone through the 60+ days of the burned ones the first time we tried it, then did it again this past fall. We'll be starting it again within a couple weeks. It's a great program. You'll be soaked after the warmup if you're doing it right.

I followed the Insanity routine for the first half a few months back. I was able to drop just under 20 pounds from 260 within that 30 day period. The only change to my diet was strictly water, no eating after 10pm, and to consume until I was satisfied instead of pigging out until I hit the food coma.
I didn't continue to the second half because summer was kicking in and I became too lazy to workout during the heat. I fell into my old habits of no exercise and not caring what I ate. I somehow managed to hover around 240 but was still fat being only 5'8". So I restarted Insanity just this past Sunday but I'm using my own routine with the workouts from the second half only.
I run the 3 max workouts twice a week to occupy 6 days and then max recovery for the last day. So my schedule is max interval circuit on Mondays and Thursdays, max interval plyo on Tuesdays and Fridays, then max cardio conditioning on Wednesdays and Saturdays and max recovery for Sundays. Absolutely no off days.
I've also made big changes to my diet. I'm drinking water only, cutting my portions WAY lower than what I'm used too, to the point where I'm still hungry, and overall cleaner foods in my system. Since starting this routine on Sunday (January 27), I went from 242 to 237 in 4 days.
I have high hopes in this routine and I will continue to update this thread with my progress. Wish me luck!

thanks. i only did the program once, and then jumped into a weekly gym routine along with running.
i have maintained that regimen for over a year now, and its just part of me.. i no longer see it as task, but more of responsibility. just as i have to show up to work, i have to make sure i exercise.. if not, i know the consequences and keep the pictures handy if/when i lose sight of why i do this.

i've been working out/lifting on my own for a while, motivation was there...but never really had someone to push me.
this week, starting on monday, i've been going to the gym on my hour lunch break with a few coworkers that go all the time. man oh man...i haven't been this sore in a long time. we literally have zero breaks, and do supersets between each exercise. i can already feel it working and i look forward to the next workout each day. the fact that i can get it done during my lunch hour is even better, no more dreading going at 5pm when i leave work.

That's all I want right now, don't care for bulking up at this point.
I've been into working out for a year with the past 7-8 with better eating. When I did insanity I wasn't eating right so I didn't get any results. After changing my diet the lbs just dropped.

I've been eating 6-8 times a day (all healthy), lifting in the morning, insanity at night and having seen any weight loss recently, its annoying the F outta me. I can't be gaining lean mass that quickly, I don't think.

You might be eating too much if you're not dropping any lbs.
For me calorie counting really helped me lose lbs

That's def not the case, if anything I might be eating too little, but I never get too hungry and I eat enough to keep me full for 2 hrs or so. Only thing I can think of is too much of a calorie deficit.

the first 20 lbs was less than a month. (insanity only)
the next 20 was over 2 more months. (insanity only)
the next 10 took 3 months. (some insanity, some gym)
the last 10 lbs took nearly 6 months. -at that point i was building muscle simeltaneously, though (gym only)
i'm no nutritionist.. but it seems everyone i know that eats like you do (6-8 times a day, has trouble burning the fat off)
everyone's body is different of course, but i stuck with 3 normal meals with small snacks between. i just made sure to keep my meals healthy, and like mentioned above, i was calorie counting for a majority of the weight loss period.
now that im toning up only, i dont care about calories.. my body has learned to burn them off accordingly. im just eating foods that give me energy for my workout and protein for healing.

some people are against calorie counting, but the truth of the matter is, it works...
if you know you took in 2000 calories that day, and you KNOW you burned at least 2,500, you WILL lose weight and you WILL get in shape.. period.
its very tedious, but it does work.

but yea, the one reason i didnt finish my 2nd round of insanity was that my knees could not handle it anymore. i felt like a old man cripple walking around.

So here's the deal:
Wife has a couple of friends that either completed or are currently doing insanity.
Wife is now interested in taking the plunge, and wants me to to it with her.
It's more here thing than mine, but I'll oblige.
I'm fit, active...exercise pretty much daily (running), and I play in a couple of sports rec leagues.
Wife is pretty fit, but would like to drop +/-5 lbs and get more "tone".
So, what am I up against?
Is it really "insane"? Should I expect to be hobbling and writhing in pain for 60 days?
Is it hype?
What's the low down?

Stick to the diet, it makes a BIG difference.
I'll elaborate more when I get home.

^^ Thanks, look forward to your info.
My interest is in the "intensity" of the workouts. I've done some pretty intense stuff before, just interested in how insanity compares.
I don't need to lose any weight. I've got pretty much little to zero body fat.
When you say stick to the diet plan, is that for weight loss or for energy?

It's for weight loss.
If you don't need to then eat how you like.
For me it was difficult because I was more out of shape When i started. It does get "easier" as you go along. But after going back to insanity and doing it after finishing a different program, its hard again. Any new workout your body is unfamiliar with will be difficult. At least for me.
Basically as the infomercials say. You do alot of high intensity workouts and very short testing periods. Like 30 seconds(?)
Also becareful on your knees, there's alot of jumping involved that puts alot of stress there.
For me I didn't lose much weight because I ate bad while doing it. I did feel stronger thou.
Uhhh if that helps.
