I made my wife drive down to the dealership with me last night. I was getting an A-Spec install and I wanted to load up her Durango with the original parts.

We drive all the way down there, do all the loading and stuff, stop and have dinner, and she seems perfectly fine.

We go to drive home and on the freeway I let her lead and I follow her (90 min drive) virtually the entire way.

We get home and she starts totally bawling and crying about how could I do that to her. Now I know your thinking I must have ditched her at the end, but what she was upset about was having to drive at night in traffic. She said she was totally scared and freaked out by driving at night in traffic because she said she cant see that well i the dark.
I knew she didnt *like* to drive at night, but god damn, I was thinking "Pull yourself together woman!". How can you live in the LA Area and not be able to drive in traffic and at night?

In thinking about it I'm sorry she got all freaked and upset, but I also feel like I dont want to raise a "helpless" woman who wont do anything on her own. Shes already the type who HAS to have Triple A service and a cell phone, wont do ANYthing involving a screwdriver unless forced, etc.

 

Women are like that!

It's her fault for not telling you she didn't want to drive in the dark. And you should have led the caravan. She should have told you to lead.

It is no fault of your own. Chalk it up as a lesson learned. You won't forget it.

 

Geez, I was spoiled growing up. The women in my family are good drivers and I've only seen my mother cry once in my whole life (at my grandfather's funeral).



Makes me think the rest of women are weak and whiney sometimes.

I'm wondering if there isnt a bigger problem them just the "scared of driving the dark". Women usually dodge the real issue and expect YOU to find it.

 

Did this incident coincide with that "time of the month"?

If not then you're right, she's crazy.

 

All females over age 12 are crazy, it varies only in degree. If you find one that doesn't seem crazy, you're just not paying enough attention.

When they are crazy like this, it usually ends with a divorce. I have seen a few cases. Majority of women are crazy. It seems to be worse now when they get thirty-something and claiming some independance at the expense of family, with an arrogant attitude. What happened to the nice and smooth feminine model? It is not for nothing that the birth rate is decreasing. Beware; it will get only worse, I assure you.

 

Get her a set of eye glasses (or some contacts) and a nice glass of STFU and stop your crying.

I read your story and laugh inside, which is the only and best thing to do. Women are emotional basket cases. No rhyme or reason.

 

Wow what do you do when you meet a girl who is totally not like that? Last weekend I went to the Y with this girl(friends sister I may add ) and she followed me there during the pouring rain and flooding. I lost her a few times and I told her that I was sorry for losing her driving and she said that was ok. And she even drove me to wendys and throw out my tray for me jeez talk about killing chivilary. I felt so bad making her do all the work but she didnt care.
