Inspired by this thread, I thought it'd be interesting to hear what all of you have learned were warning signs to get out of a bad relationship (especially if you didn't know it was a "bad relationship" when you were in it).

So let's hear 'em! Bad stories? Words of wisdom? Lessons learned?

 

#1... If you don't think she's pretty enough for you.... and she isn't making a hell lot of money... dump her ass before it's too late.
#2 If she sucks at Blow Jobs and refuse to learn it... she's not right for you.
#3 If your family disapprove of her and remain the same attitude after 3 years....... she's not right for you.
#4 If you aren't the partying type and she wants to hit the clubs every weekend or chance she gets.... it won't change. You're in one hell of a conflicting relationship.
#5 If her mom's fat, she'll be fat. If you can't stand her being fat, dump her ass.
#6 If your girl have a problem with you looking at porn, going to strip clubs, owning a strip club or porn DVD..... she's not right for you.
#7 If she's wililng to sacrafice herself and let you do her in the butt...she's a keeper.
#8 If she's super-rich and hot... marry her ASAP. Cuz divorce comes with wealth.
#9 Relationships that last longer than 6 years without marriage becomes unhealthy.
#10 man up, listen to your inner voice, listen to your friends/family about the negative side of yourself and your significant other.

If she is too controlling now, that's not going to get any better.

Just read every post in D&R from Shaved99CL. Those are all the warning signs you'll ever need.

Here are a few warning signs I learned over the years:

- If she pisses off your friends and family, there's probably something they see that you don't.
- You call her a barnacle behind her back
- Fighting like cats and dogs for no reason and no resolution
- The sex isn't good
- Conversations are always dragging out
- You don't find her physically attractive/can't remember when you did

 

maybe for you, but I see a lot of problems with some of these statements. Seems as though you're being a little narrow minded

 

1. If you feel that you are settling on something that is anything less than your fantasy woman (though you play a part in this too, don't lie to yourself)
2. If a massive life insurance policy is taken out on your ass

#If your partner asks you where you were all the time

#They demand to know what you were doing and with whom

#They make threats: physical, sexual (yes, things like threats to withhold sex), etc

#They make ultimatums

#They use all-encompassing terms (ie: "You ALWAYS...", "You NEVER...")

#Your friends don't like your partner, or worse, cannot stand them

#They have separate events for important dates which you're not "allowed" to attend, such as a separate birthday party that you're not included in, frequent late night outings to the bar (where you're rarely invited or not at all, or invited less than about 1/3 of the time)

#They won't let you meet their friends

#They seem ashamed to be seen in public with you where someone who knows them might see you holding hands or even socializing

#You haven't met their parents, and you've been in a relationship for quite some time (N/A if their parents are dead or live really far away)

#They frequently demand that you stop doing your fun activities and divert 100% of your attention to them

#They demand money

#They demand sex

#The two of you can't talk about the sexual aspect of your relationship without it being awkward, or worse, without it turning into a shouting match

#Arguments are frequent and often escalate rather than diffuse

Look within, if you are not truly HAPPY, get out.

I don't mean every aspect of your life here. I just mean, does he/she really make you happy (be brutally honest here!) Do you really look forward to seeing your SO? Do you want nothing more that to make them happy? If that is the case then you have the right one. Looks, lifestyle, all that means something, but being really happy makes the rest secondary.

I remember a convo I had with some friends a few yrs ago about finding the right person for you. Basically looking for someone who has problems you can deal with. Since Im not down for dealing with anyones crap but my own, I like staying single

 

I remember my friends ex doing this when we wouldn't tell her what we had just been talking about before she came in the room. She was dead serious, too
