Okay, might be a dumb question, but what the heck is the "'rhythm' method"? And, give or take a day or two, you can figure out when you're ovulating.

Basically trying to time your ovulations...up to 20% failure rate

In my opinion, which is not backed by any facts whatsoever, if you've been on birth control for a super long time, then your chances of getting pregnant are lowered than if you just started using it. But um, a 20% failure rate would mean that there's an 80% success rate, which isn't prefect, but is good enough for me...obviously.

But that means out of every 5 times you have sex, you could get pregnant one of those times So like once a week you're at risk....

I've heard of that. Kind of like you have to flush it out of your system. Obviously it varies in the fertility of both male and female but it is said to be a factor.
