Sorry to hijack but I was wondering what you guys thought.

Class just started last monday, and I ended up sitting next to this really cute new girl. I got to talking to her, and she was telling me about how she was new etc etc. The last two classes we've been talking casual stuff ya know. We had to form groups so I asked her if she wanted to work with me, so its us two and some other chick and we exchanged numbers.

It's been going well, and I offered to teach her some basic camera handling since she was telling me she had no idea and she wished someone would teach her. And so I've been meaning to ask her out to do something casual like coffee but I don't want to jump the gun with her being new to school. I was going to do it today after class got out, but we had to take a quiz and she was taking forever so I just left instead of waiting around for another 20 mins pretending to proof read.

I kind of went off on a tangent, but should I wait until Wed or since I have her number call her up sometime? I don't want to be sitting around with my thumb up my ass either, I might not be able to make it to class on Wednesday and attractive women who aren't either crazy or lesbians are in short supply at my school . Although I'm sure I'm the only non creepy and decently attractive dude to talk to her since she got here. I already screwed up once by taking too long and I don't want that to happen again.

Yea you did, if you don't do it the next time you see her then forget about it. There is no perfect time or thing to say to her; She has already made up her mind about you pretty much regardless of what you say.

^Just ask her out for coffee and make it mellow or bring some camera shit to break the ice. If she's enthusiastic then you're down and you can move forward to movie, dinner, happy hour, etc. She already seems pretty cool and i'm sure she'll try to keep it from getting awkward seeing as how you 2 already formed a study group. Better yet, if the 3rd girl's cute aim for a 3-way J/K

 

Class got canceled today so I gave her a call a little later, but she didn't pick up. I'll see her in class on friday anyways and I'll let you know what happens.

Update on my situation if anyone cares.

I invited her to a shoot we were doing at a club, and went to the after party later that night. We had a great time, and I met this other girl this guy I know from class brought along to the bar. At the after party he went off and did his own thing and me and the other girl were wasted, and so we were dancing with my hands down her pants and getting pretty dirty. I figured it might be a little awkward the next day in class but she came and sat down next to me and we were flirting, but I didn't do too much because I was more into the original girl.


So I made plans to go to Santa Barbara with the girl from class earlier this week. We went tonight but it was kind of a waste of time. One of her roommates wanted to tag along and we got to SB and it turned out that not even one place was 18+ tonight. So we ended up renting some scary movies and went back to her apartment with a bunch of booze.

I could tell that she wasn't that interested but I actually like her roommate that came along better, we really hit it off. I've pretty much lost all interest (in anything other then friend) in the chick from class and the only reason I'd hang out in the future is get a chance to get to know her roommate better. Plus now I can date the girl I met at the after party (shes friends with the original girl) without any problems so it's all good

* Met another girl at the after party, messed around a little bit (friends with original girl)
* Went out tonight but it was a bust, and she didn't seem interested
* Met her roommate, like her better and hit it off
* Now can ask out after party girl (who is into me) since nothing is going to happen with original girl

 

Now that I think about it more, maybe she's just shy or maybe not. I know she's the type that is insecure but to play it off pretends to be really outgoing, she even admitted it (which is kind of a turn off but w/e). She seems like the serial dater type but I don't "date" anyways or normally pay for them either. I'll put her on the back burner for now, and we'll see what happens.

Well like the people who have social anxiety but instead of it manifesting in a shy way, they become boisterous so everyone else doesn't know how they're feeling. What she said to me was "I'm insecure but I say I'm the best at stuff because I think it's funny, but some people think I'm bitchy", my ex was just like this too. I get it though, I do the same thing except I do it in a joking way because people who know me know I'm humble.

What I've noticed by hanging out with her is that if she feels uncomfortable in a situation she'll act out in a way that will make people think that she's really confident. Sometimes she'll say something that will make people go , or just try a little too hard and come off as a little weird. I always tease her about it though because I can see right through it.
