I have to admit I was thinking it though. Probably others too but I didn't have the nerve to ask. The topic (babies) did come up though during our last dinner..... yes?

I did have one friend call to ask if HLL was preg.

No, it's all about medical insurance, the venue we wanted and how much it costs at what times of year ($3500 now v. $15000 in the "season"), how much more I'd spend on COBRA if we waited for the price to come back down in the fall, starting a new job...life. Sooooo romantic!! Oh, and I don't remember the convo, but it wouldn't surprise me. You know me & my memory... :/

Sorry for the hijack, vas.

If you have a smart chick she'll realize a diamond is a waste of money and she'll be happy with a simulated diamond which nobody can ever tell if it's real or fake.

The difference can be used for the boob job.

Sad thing is, I don't remember what day I went on my first date with her, what day I proposed or what day I had the engagement party. I do remember what day I got married though (and when her birthday is), made sure not to forget that. Does that make me a bad person? shrug:

Don't be nervous vas. It's going to be a great day. Sounds like you've covered most of the arrangements already. You already know your beloved as well as you can so no reason to sweat is there now? Just enjoy.

Haven't come in here in a while. Been busy making wedding plans!

Most of the arrangements have been made. We made our own invitations, sent those out a while ago and receiving replies now. We just went down to Chicago on Sunday to leave a few deposits.

So far, we have deposits in for:
-Restaurant
-Ceremony church is all figured out
-Photographer
-Videographer
-Florist
-Booked 15 rooms at a hotel and made shuttle arrangements to run until 2:30 am
-Got the Groomsmen presents and suit for me to wear
I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff.

They vetoed kabobs from the menu....I was pretty upset but I'm making 20-30lb for day 2

It's not just her, I'm helping out! We are stressing out like most couples I'm sure. There is so much to do and having the wedding 1.5hrs away does not help.

I'm going to try to remember all these dates...well I know the proposal date and wedding date...if I ever forget, I'll just come on AZ

I just can't wait until it's all over and done with. It's a lot of planning that goes into one day that I'm sure will fly by in a moment. I just hope the videographer and the photographer capture it

Right now, it's tracking to be about $30K. We've saved A LOT by doing a lot of the work ourselves, planning and whatnot. We are not getting centerpieces and all the flowers that many get, that is saving us about $2700 alone. Also decorations for the ceremony we skipped on, that was anywhere between $2500-3500. We are using the decor the restaurant already has, it flows with our colors also.

No tux's, we're just wearing black suits, all bridesmaid dresses were made by my future mother in law (she's a very good seamstress). The dress was free ($7K dress) from the boutique my fiance and her mother work at (fiance just works there on Saturdays).

I lucked out with Vodka utilizing some rebates, was able to save a few hundred there.
Total booze - 63 bottles of ketel one, 24 bottles of hennessy, 40 bottles of white, 40 bottles of red wine, 60-70 bottles of champagne.

Hopefully we won't be running out. Restaurant menu came out to be about $103/person (not including alcohol which we are bringing).

Band is about $1500.

Hope that gives a good idea.

It's a massive menu. Sorry, I shouldn't have said "a plate", it's family style. I just went to a wedding that was $140/plate, we got lobster tail, a small steak and some mashed potatoes - all this with unlimited booze. That was a painful Sunday morning.

Ours will include: 11 cold appetizers, 4 hot appetizers, & 3 main courses (Chilean Sea Bass, Aged Prime Rib Eye Steak, New Zealand Rack of Lamb).

We are talking about eating/drinking/dancing from 6pm until 2am. Traditional Russian Wedding.

We also ordered a sweet table for desert that will have fruits, pastries and the wedding cake. That ran about $1600.

Toned down the menu a little, ended up being $90/person

Dropping off the rest of the money this weekend and the party is on for next Friday.

I have 4 cases of Ketel One, 2 cases of Hennessy and 4 cases of white wine in my basement. Need to find a decently priced red wine ASAP.

Any ideas?

To be honest though, it's actually a decent wine given it's price. Especially for $2 a bottle. Better than some $10-15 bottles.

Ended up working a deal with the restaurant for the wine at $8/bottle. We both liked it.

I was really sad dropping off all the cash on Sunday

Wedding was amazing. We had 162 people actually show up, everyone worked really hard to make the wedding perfect and we had minimal hickups.

I find it strange that I'm married...
