Dating people you work with
I'm with UNCTYPE-S.
But I would never find out because I like my job too much to risk losing it over some gash. There are way too many girls that i don't work with out there who want to have sex with me for me to jeapordize my job by approaching someone I work with.
That said. The closest I have ever come was the Indian girl I posted about a while back. She is one the prettiest Indian girls i have ever seen, and her office was on the same floor as mine. I would take the long way back to my office everytime in the hope that i would catch a glimpse of her. One weekend I was at Fry's (Mega electronics store here in Houston) and we ran into each other, we small talked and then after that we would always say "hi" when we saw each other in the hallways.
She resigned 2 months later and I immediately called her up, we dated briefly, but if she never resigned i would have continued to admire her from afar.

So after college I start a career at this advertising firm in Portland. I was crazy ecstatic to get this job because I majored in advertising and landing an agency job right out of college was deemed the impossible. (for Portland anyway)
Over the next few weeks, I slowly meet all the staff and start developing those “work relationships.” I found the homies to go to lunch with, the haters to avoid, the powerful ones to impress, and of course the hotties to spit game. Well, over time, the personalities of the hotties slowly disqualified themselves as potential except for this one secretary girl. She was actually a total bitch to me but for some reason it seemed really transparent. Ever feel like someone is actually being really nice to you while at the same time being a total bitch? That was this girl. (ex: coming to my cube for file requests that she could have received from anyone in my department, setting deadlines for me to get her my supply requests even though she was a lowly secretary and was expected to get me what I wanted, when I wanted, etc.)
Well, as time progressed, she slowly dropped the bitch attitude and started warming up to me. This was at the very end though as I had planned to submit my resignation in lue of a better job offer over the coming week. I asked her out to lunch once already, but now since I was quitting, I figured id ask her again and let her be the first to know I was quitting.
Over lunch she tells me, “well, I will miss you since we have this new friendship, but I don’t date my co-workers so im kinda glad your leaving in that respect.” Shocked at how forward she was, I picked my jaw up off the floor and asked if she wanted to get together the weekend after I quit. She said sure….and….well….the rest? I think she said it best….

we know how to put it down
I'm in that situation now.
A chic at my job is trying to get at me and she's hot but she's directly related to the owner of the company.
Another thing is she's white and black.
Pretty much a no win situation so I don't bother.
Shame too cause I wanna hit that so bad.

To me that sounds like fair game...........Just have another job lined up incase the owner gets pissed off.
I voted maybe...
I don't think I'd be comfortable if things didn't work out... There are a couple of cuties that have shown signs of interest, but I've always made it a point not to mix business with pleasure
Now if a supermodel started working here, that would be another story

Hell no, I've learned the hard way. Only if you know that you will definitely never ever see her at work. I used to work in the same department with this girl that I "dated" and it was going good. But you can see too much of each other even if it is at work.

Nuffin' on my or her part.
But her Family are old school Italians who only mess with other Italians.
They wouldn't let it happen.
Not too long ago she was tellin' me about how her dad flipped out 'cause she was talkin' to a jewish guy.

My 2 cents....
BAD IDEA
I've done it twice. Once I dated a student at a grad school I worked at...didnt last long OR end well.
Next was dating the PR girl for a production company i was shooting a tv show for....again wasnt healthy during the run of the show. and ended very badly, but luckily she had finished at the company as well.
Shit has a potential come back and bite you in the ass. I got lucky...2x. I've also learned my lesson.

i worked at a restaurant over the summer, and i had a big crush on one of the waiters. so.. we started hanging out blah balh, but he had major baggage with his ex/current girlfriend. i say "ex/current" because he couldn't fucking decide whether he wanted to break up with her or not. and i must say, i was a much better choice for him, but he ended up choosing her after much back-and-forth crap. it was a bit awkward after he decided to stay with her, esp. since like, the whole workplace knew about us. blah.
he was a good kisser too.. damn.
oh well. it was only a restaurant job, so it didn't matter if we were weird around each other, because we were both pretty mature about it, and we could still talk afterwards, eventually.
i'd advise against it, especially if you have a full-time bring-home-the-bacon type job. you don't want to run the risk of losing it if it gets ugly.
co-workers start dating...fall in love...start dictating how each other should act at work...break up...tension between the two...fights at office...get fired...maybe even a sexual harrasment case...
