Ok so the steaks got delayed but I will be making them tonight. Going to do a peppercorn garlic marinade and then wrap them in bacon. Going to make some spicy parmesan asparagus to go along with it.

Have you ever looked at pictures of food and just by looking at them you know the food is good? I can almost taste it. This is how this thread is. I hate this thread. It makes me hungry every time I look at it.

So I'm thinking about making Philly cheese steaks tonight but instead of using a rib eye I'm going to go quick and easy and use rare roast beef.
Anyone tried that before? How was the outcome?

Well I picked up some ultra rare Boars Head roast beef that was cut super thin at lunch. I'll take a pic or two and post the results tomorrow. 
I have a feeling it may be a little salty though. We'll see.

So I made these last night but totally forgot to take a picture! I kept it simple, green and orange peppers sauteed lightly with some sweet onions. I used some Amish yogurt provolone cheese that melts up real nice! That's it. No lettuce or tomato. Simple and easy. Tons of mayo.
I can make some super mean chicken philly cheese sandwiches but I've never been totally satisfied with how my steak phillies turn out. These with the roast beef turned out GREAT!
It more or less tasted like Subway's cheesesteaks.

I mean that general texture. Kind of like Charleys Steakery (if you have those). Because the beef is cut so damn thin it gives it that texture that Subways has.
Taste was better because the ingredients were higher quality and using a garlic butter to flash cook the roast beef was perfect.

I went to a 75yr old German lady's house to work on her PC a few nights ago and she made me dinner. It was pork tenderloin in some beef sauce with flour, spices, lard; also mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I washed it down with an East German beer I'd never heard of.
It was so damn good, best meal I'd had in a long time.

I seen that on FB. Looked damn good. Here we like to put ground beef (browned separately in a skillet first) in our baked beans with a little mustard and bbq (depends on how much you want to use) and bake it all together.
